Other SurveyUSA results: Republican U.S. Senate candidate Joseph DioGuardi is running neck and neck with Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand for the seat vacated by Hillary Clinton; and Democratic U.S. Senator Charles Schumer holds a commanding 21 percentage point lead over challenger Jay Townsend, a Republican.

It doesn't give us the numbers, though. Confirmation??

If true, that's huge!

UPDATE:

NY Sen: Gillibrand (D) 45, DioGuardi (R) 44 SurveyUSA 9/20-9/21 572 LV

Dick Morris mentioned Gillibrand was in trouble months ago, no one listened.

Cuomo is also not the sure thing he assumed it would be.

Update:

DioGuardi is only down 1 point!!

http://www.wgrz.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=87726&catid=37

In the Special Election to fill the final 2 years of Hillary Rodham Clinton's term, incumbent Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand and former Congressman Republican Joe DioGuardi today finish effectively even, with Gillibrand's nominal 1-point lead being within the survey's theoretical margin of sampling error.

The best weapon in response to an enemy willing to employ suicide and capable of using nuclear weapons is intelligence—enhanced through technology and human resources, not war. We must put a premium on the development of an intelligence operation, coordinated with our allies, to identify and root out terrorist organizations like al Qaeda. War should be used as a last resort. Iraq was a mistake, and our military should continue to bow out gracefully and allow Iraq to emerge under its own self rule. The war in Afghanistan is a war of choice that needs to be reconsidered in light of the immense foreign policy implications involving two of our allies, Pakistan and India.

And a DeMint endorsement, unless it would hurt him.

Not to bust anybody's bubble, but it does warrant a caveat that SUSA has been the most Republican-leaning pollster this cycle. I am not saying they are wrong or right; however, their turnout model is leaning particularly towards the GOP this cycle compared to other pollsters (including Rasmussen, which put Dioguardi down 9 or so a few days ago).

Nevertheless, Dioguardi is a pretty strong candidate for the job and if we do get turnout this could be a helluva huge upset.

Here is a good example of a moderate Republican who we can support, rather than shit "moderates" like John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and David Frum.

He has to be moderate if he's running in NY state.

David Milpass was the neocon preferred candidate that ran against him for the Republican primary. Some of us had a good laugh from Milpass's robo calls and fliers shouting out that Giuliani endorsed him. That pretty much said it all about who not to vote for.

Win a chance to meet Mayor Rudy Giuliani!
This week's top dialer in our Victory Phone Banks will receive a ticket to see Rudy Giuliani when he visits the 8th District next week.

i may have to vote for the D in this race though i am a registered republican

How did we collectively not notice this guy before?

He's kind of awesome, and he's a Ron Paul supporter. Could we get another Paul guy in there?

I love Joe DioGuardi. He's the only Senate candidate that I know of who has advocated withdrawing from Iraq and Afghanistan. That alone is a good enough reason for me to donate money to him. This guy must be driving the neocons crazy.

I agree. I think that people would respect Rand more if he took a stronger stand on the issues. We just have to guess how he'll vote on issues like this.

Dick Morris is on the show now, and says DioGuardi can win if he gets money, but he's broke at the moment.

Competitive NY Senate races can reach into the tens of millions of dollars range, which is probably more than could be raised from Ron Paul types - you frankly need to be a self-funder, to get the Wall Street money (always goes to the incumbent, although Gillibrand is one of the most anti-Wall Street NY senators in a long time), or to get the Connecticut neocon money (definitely not happening, some overlap with the Wall Street money) to raise that much.

Hopefully this guy get broad support.

He supports RP BUT he wants the audit done in the right way? That's quite an old video and was taken before they shredded Paul's bill? He mentions auditing the Fed in the right way twice. He would have said 'I support RP,I know him AND we want the audit done in the right way.'? Does his audit proposal differ from RPs?

I can speak on this personally because I was at the rally and watched him speak, as some of us will remember HR 1207 called for the GAO to Audit the Fed, he basically said as a government agency the GAO may be prone to conduct a lackluster audit, and that to be sure of a thorough audit it would be better to have an independent outside firm. He said he'd talk to Ron Paul about that point.

A few weeks later Ron Paul was asked on a radio show (can't remember which) about the GAO being the one to conduct the audit and the merits of having an outside firm, Ron Paul basically said the GAO was the best thing we had and it wasn't known for falling through the cracks.

So in conclusion, DioGuardi's concern at the time was only about the ones doing the auditing, if anything he was concerned the GAO wouldn't be good enough. He wasn't in favor of any of these watered-down audits that ended up being tossed around and thrown into the Financial Reform Package.

And this is the best proof I have for me being at the rally.

We REALLY need to throw our support behind DioGuardi! This is a man who has a legitimate chance of winning, and winning a SENATE seat no less! This would be a great victory for liberty, and I believe DioGuardi should become a main priority for the liberty movement (only second to Rand Paul).
