Yesterday I stumbled upon Mitt's facebook page and saw random supporters posting on the profile that "Obama is screwing the country, we need you!" etc.

So I messaged a few of them, and here are the only replies I got...

I don't care what his policies are anyway. A guy as handsome as that, with the repoire, ability to carry himself, speak so well, deserves a chance to lead this country. Let's try Romney and quit buying in to "what you want to hear".

LOL.....why am I laughing?? This is how people vote.

"Romney's is an R, Obama is a D, they're DIFFERENT!"

I'm sorry, but this is why Ron won't win. (the firt time I've admitted that on here)

If it was only logical and intelligent people voting, he WOULD win...but those are the ONLY people who replied to me. That's how everyone thinks. NO ONE had an answer to the message I sent.

People will vote on candidates due to looks in the primaries, then vote for their party in the generals.

That's how it has been, how it is, and how it always will be.

Ooof. I pretty much agree. Doesn't mean I won't push RP 2012 until I can't no more. Then il move to New hampshire :).

Don't despair. We've made large gains with more to come, depending on our persistence.

We should actually learn from this. Just how much material appearance, slogans, cliches, and dumbed down rhetoric may be extremely valuable. Now how can we use it?

Yeah, we're fucked.

Not that it's any surprise.

But I'm still optimistic, not that the great unwashed will have any kind of "awakening" but that the ten percent of us will maybe someday rediscover the will needed to tell these idiots to sit back, STFU and seize our liberty back, regardless of "public opinion".

That your vital freedoms are in the hands of such morons should be enough to make any sane person spit nails.

If the founders had waited until public opinion favored them, we'd still be drinking tea and speaking funny.

And this is why many of us have made the leap, and now realize that outside the occasional fluke monarch, every single government ends up getting run by fucking idiots with appetites for power.

The ring is evil. The best you can hope for is that the person holding it for the time being has the gigantic character it takes to put it on the mantle and not use it.

For me, the question isn't whether anarchy is the right goal, the question is not how do we get there, and the question is not how do we stay there. The only question is how do we stay afloat long enough to start talking about it.

The narrator sounds like Willem Defoe.

Quite frankly, you all are stupid for forgetting that is how the general populace votes nowadays. Obama was a Black man running for President, and that is all the majority of his supporters selected him for. Our elections have become like American Idol races, and it's all based on looks and presentation, not philosophy and content.

So it does not surprise me that Romney's supporters would reason the way they do about him being a good candidate for President. Behold the feminization of our political process where looks (sexiness, fashion, etc.) actually makes a candidate worthy of his office.

We've all known it, but I keep trying to tell myself that the average American isn't a dumbass and can think for themselves. They when things like this happen, reality sets in again.

Another person replied.....

Ron Paul is backed by the freaky weird folks that think Bush bombed the trade centers....He is fiscally perfect, but the fanatical weird people that flock to him have ruined him. If he runs it will be like last time, he is not electable.

This is what tons of republicans think. 99% of Republicans love Ron on fiscal issues....everyone hates him either over the wars, or because all kinds of conspiracy theorists follow him and spout out their agenda in his name.

If he wants any shot in 2012, all the conspiracy theorists really need to stop, atleast until the election is over.

That's why he's not polling at 25% right now...everyone thinks he himself believes 9/11 was an inside job.

Ron Paul should not run an educational campaign. He needs to run a campaign of zingers and one liners. Instead of reading books from the Mises Institute, he needs to watch some Comedy Central Roasts.

ugh, these people make me ill. the clamor for a leader they can cling to and entrust their very lives to. why? it's such nonsense.

their fascination with ego and popularity reminds me of the highschool mentality.
