A lot of people try to compare RP's campaign to Howard Dean 04 but I instead think Clinton 92 is a better comparison.

The number of Americans who say that "things" in the country have "pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track" has increased from 31 percent who said so in January to 42 percent in March and to 60 percent in the latest poll. And a plurality of 44 percent says things in the country are generally going worse than they were five years ago; that is up from 31 percent who expressed the same view in March.

Indeed, at this early stage, support for the six declared candidates generally reflects name recognition. Edmund G. Brown Jr., the former California Governor who announced his candidacy today, led with 12 percent, followed by Gov. L. Douglas Wilder of Virginia, with 8 percent; Senator Bob Kerrey of Nebraska, 7 percent; Gov. Bill Clinton of Arkansas, 5 percent; Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa, 3 percent, and Paul E. Tsongas, the former Massachusetts senator, 2 percent.

This was 16 years ago almost to the date. Within 3 months Clinton and Tsongas were neck and neck. It wasn't until Super Tuesday that Clinton came out on top. Ironically, if Clinton WOULDN'T have been a serial cheater he would have never appeared on 60 minutes and would have arguably never become president (IMHO).

Ron Paul is EXACTLY at the point he needs to be in terms of an insurgent campaign. Remember, only 7-10% vote in the primaries and there will not be a single RP supporter who will not vote on those days.
