I'm behind Joe Miller 100%.
Let's hope Murkowski's write-in bid doesn't screw things up.

Ya know, he tried to argue for the state, but failed to make it clear.

Something along the lines of: why are you convinced that the state of Alaska can't take care of its unemployed on its own? I don't think liberals from New York and California should be telling Alaska how it can best help its citizens.

He does need to polish his message but he's headed in the right direction.

The beard has to be worth something too. :)

People unemployment is unconstitutional because the fed gov has stolen the funds from your pay check each week against your will.

Now the argument seems to be that people do not deserve unemployment from the fed gov as if the fed gov is giving something to the unemployed!

YOUR unemployment is YOUR effin money, not the fed gov's, they have not paid jack to the unemployed.

Same as SS, we paid in the GD money, it is our money not the federal gov's!

He is right, but even Ron Paul says you can't win elections by talking about cutting benefits while the country is in dire financial straits. His message should be pretty much what Rand Paul's message is, IMHO.

No entirely true. Employers are forced to pay half of your unemployment taxes. All the unemplyment extensions are peing paied for with federal debt or other taxes. Not what you paid.

That's not even quite true. Only the employer pays Federal Unemployment Taxes. (FUTA). The amount they pay depends on how much the state keeps. Only the first $7000 of an employees income is taxed, and it's taxed at .008. Basically, if you are the employer, you multiply $7000 * .008, which equals $56.00. Then you subtract anything you're responsible for on the state level. (SUTA).

Some states make the employee contribute a little, some don't.

Of course, even at that, the employer only pays them nominally. In actuality, the employee does pay 100%, just as the employee pays 100% of Social Security payroll tax. The requirement that the employer pay it for the employee, without indicating to the employee that this is money you would be getting if not for this tax, is just a way of making people feel like they're paying less to participate in the program than what it really costs.
