I am sure we will love to see what the charges will be. Perhaps arson? Can't be book burning.

He should have had a family member "turn him in".

I wonder if they'd give a similar reward for someone who left a burning bag of dog crap on their front door.

What charges are they looking to trump up?

The only one I can even remotely think of is attempted arson.

From what I understand, what was left was the ashes. So there wasn't even any fire to accuse him of attempted arson.

It might be prosecuted as a hate crime since he left it in front of a mosque. Not really sure how that would play out unless he damaged their property.

Wouldn't some sort of damage have to have been done to prosecute someone for that?

Is "intimidation" or "threats" considered a crime? Not that I think anyone should be prosecuted for this, just curious.

I can see them bitching about a hate crime or religious hate crime in some fashion.

got to love this place

I say burn all the damn bibles, to me they are just books and I think that is what is important as far as law goes. If you have the "intent" to incite this or that then you are fucked lol.

$10k to find out who did it?

The East Lansing burning of the Quran, a holy book for Muslims, led to an attack on a church in Punjab, India, where a mob of angry Muslims tried to burn it Sunday night, according to the Times of India and other media outlets. Stories about the burning of the Quran in Michigan circulated among the Muslim community in India through text messages...

...The suspect’s name was not released. Johnson said the police investigation is ongoing and will continue. The case is to be forwarded to prosecutors in Ingham County for further review.

A couple things:

1. A mob of angry Muslims in India burned a Church down because of this? Seriously? How awesome is there life over there that the biggest concern in their life is a Koran burned 5,000 miles away.

2. Why is the suspect's name not released? Seems odd...

3. "the police investigation is ongoing and will continue" What? What is left to continue at this point? Was this a sophisticated operation with a mastermind and financier still on the loose?

Seems if anything, they should be going after the people who burned down the Church.
