Terror chief said we're no safer for invading Iraq. 3 days later, "medical issues" cause him to resign.

Not only him stepping down after making that claim but in the middle of the biggest anti-terrorism drill ever executed stretching from Oregon to Guam.

More likely he felt free to make the comments BECAUSE he knew he was coming up for the surgery.
