Election Focus Group May 21, 2007

Peter Hart conducted a focus group discussing the 2008 presidential campaign with 12 Baltimore area residents. Participants included 5 Democrats, 4 Republican and 3 independent voters who were identified by their first names only. They spoke about their reactions to presidential candidates, issues in the news, public policy positions, and their opinions on the direction of government. Among the major topics they addressed were military operations in Iraq, the Bush administration's policies, the economy, and what qualities they look for in presidential candidates.

Republican Focus Group Nov 1, 2007

Peter Hart conducted a focus group among Virginia Republican primary voters on behalf of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. This was the second of approximately ten groups, which will be held in various locations throughout the presidential campaign. The goal is to understand voter perceptions of the presidential candidates and the issues shaping the 2008 presidential race. Following the focus group, political reporters who watched the group shared their reactions.

A couple points here...

- The average voter had no idea who Ron Paul was or what he stood for.


- These focus groups were conducted before the big money bomb events, I wish we had some video after Nov 5th and Dec 16th.


- Either the grassroots or the campaign should conduct several of these groups and see where we stand in terms of support.
