View Full Version : Why Ron Paul needs to announce early

Ron Paul can't wait until January or later to announce his presidency. The disgruntled masses are looking for their leader -now-. People are so hungry for a Republican leader to follow to the unseating of Obama that they're starting to latch on to any yahoo that makes the suggestion that they're the one to save them. They're starting to latch on to Sarah Palin as if she'll lead us to salvation, without really even knowing who she is, other than that she's the one that might save us from Obama. There's even been talk of Glenn Beck running in 2012 to beat Obama.

The Republicans hate Obama so much that they'll pretty much take anyone who steps into the position and they'll latch onto them like a life preserver with all they've got.

Look at George W. Bush. He was a nobody. Nobody knew who he was or what he stood for. But made his intentions known early, at least to some people, that he would be running. I remember after the 1998 mid-term elections the news agencies were doing exit polling on whether voters would vote for Bush Sr's son George if he was on the ballot in 2000. And a lot of them were all for it, mainly because they knew the name Bush and hated Clinton. Nothing else. I also remember during the Reagan administration the media talking up George HW Bush about how well he has done as a VP.

They WILL have exit polling in November and they WILL be playing king maker.

Republicans like to follow leaders. They like to follow the guy that's out front. Ron Paul needs to be the first one out the gates and be that leader.

I think he needs to announce in November shortly after the election. Get the media attention and money bombs rolling again.

I agree.. stealing the thunder from Palin is key. Everyone is eager and the time will be right after a Rand victory.. Momentum!~

c'mon, announce so we can start selling our t-shirts!!

seriously though, don't these people know that sooner announced, sooner they can collect money and earn interest even if they do nothing?

^Yes. Don't announce before Rand wins because then the Democrats as well as establishment Republicans will do something to sabotage Rand and, indirectly, Ron. AFTER Rand wins and is a hero to all Republicans, then announce right away and become the leader the Republicans desperately need.

How about just have him announce at Rand Pauls victory Party... ok, that might be stealing a bit too much of Rands thunder, but it will sure grab some serious media attention!

he won't announce until early spring. He needs a couple months to push for an Audit of the Fed before he announces. He also has to show that he is pushing to repeal Obamacre, and to promote and line up sponsors for his bills to audit the SEC and the alleged gold reserves. And these actions must be coordinated with Rand Paul in the Senate.

In 2007, Ron had a weak domestic agenda. That will change in 2011.

Yes! Yes! The sooner the better. And pick a V.P. that is just as versed in the concept of liberty (Napolitano?) and get him out there campaigning.
Every V.P. has stayed under the radar and is generally thought of as "dressing." Make this election about a two-fer. How about the slogan "Two-For the Vote of One?"

Or at least a rumor leaked to the media that he will announce at Rand's victory party if Rand wins.... ;)

The whole election night is nothing but people talking about anything and everything having to do with politics and speculating...as millions of voters watch...

Couldn't that backfire? If he announces and the media simply don't cover it, he gets less of an effect if he announces around the same time that a few other Republicans do and he's covered as part of a roundup.

Matt, did you get that?? lol

I think it would be brilliant, you have the worlds attention right there... Plus, anyone and everyone that would announce after him would be compared to him....

Wolf: "So, it looks like Mitt Romney is joining Ron Paul in the 2012 race..." and so on.

It would be brilliant, at Rand's victory party speech, for Rand to turn around and ask Ron if he was running in 2012, and for Ron to simply answer, "yes." That way it's not Ron taking advantage of Rand's moment, it's Rand graciously handing his moment over to Ron to make the big announcement.

Even better.
