It appears that the Libertarian Party (http://www.facebook.com/libertarians ) is within striking distance of beating the Democratic Party on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/democrats ).

While this isn't necessarily a Ron Paul specific issue, I think this is a pretty good sign for liberty in general.

It would be great to overtake the Dems!

The current growth rate is good, but we are definitely going to need an extra push to overtake them.

I'm just curious to know if the Democrats have noticed how close we are to beating them...

Never underestimate the lengths most people will go to to be on a "winning team." I know this is surprising to a Ron Paul supporter, but to many people, politics is a horse race. These folks don't pick their candidates based on adherence to a consistent political philosophy with solutions that address modern-day problems; they just want to be winners - to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Sad? Yes, patyhetic even. But this is how some people think.

I can't believe I hadn't liked the LP on facebook already. Thanks!

Is that the new Dem logo? It looks like a target. And their new motto is "Change that matters."

Heh.

So Kaine's big announcement (http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/09/15/dnc.major.annoucement/) was lipstick on a pig (http://www.democrats.org/).

I think it shows libertarians aren't as ashamed to make their party affiliation public.

Then again Obama has 10+ Million fans; But he's more of a celebrity to the masses.

Not a problem, Lucille.

Also, I've yet to talk to anyone who actually likes the Democrats' new logo.

Facebook? Whooptishit. Let me know when the LP is within striking distance of having more members of Congress than the Democrats.
