Western Pennsylvania's shale oil deposits (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shale_gas_in_the_United_States#Marcellus_Shale) have lately attracted interest not only from companies who have been extracting some of that oil, but from locals who object to what they perceive as sharp dealing by the companies involved, favorable treatment by the state government, and environmental degradation as a result of the extraction. Some of the most visible of those protesters, it turns out, have been tracked (including "Web traffic") by Pennsylvania's own Homeland Security department, and that information about them has been shared not only within the department, but with the oil companies (http://www.centredaily.com/2010/09/14/2206710/documents-show-homeland-security.html) themselves. Homeland Security director James Powers defended the information shared with the oil companies as part of a triweekly bulletin, saying "We want to continue providing this support to the Marcellus Shale Formation natural gas stakeholders while not feeding those groups fomenting dissent against those same companies."

An activist who believes he was improperly included on a state terror threat list said this morning he is preparing a federal lawsuit.
The state paid a Philadelphia-based nonprofit $125,000 to compile the list as part of the state Homeland Security's federally mandated mission to protect public infrastructure.
Shields said he wants to see the financial statements of York-based Institute Of Terrorism Research And Response, a registered nonprofit, according to state records.
"Am I on a list somwehere? Am I on someone's dossier?" Shields said.
"If there's a list I hope we're all on it," said Councilwoman Theresa Smith.
The nonprofit, which has offices in Washington and Jerusalem, provides "actionable intelligence briefings" and "threat and hazard monitoring," among other services, according to its website.
"We maintain confidentiality with our clients, and we respect that confidentiality," said Mike Perelman, co-director of the institute.
I'd like a little sunshine on this "Institute Of Terrorism Research and Response."

I wonder how many subsidiaries, affiliates and parallel organizations are out there documenting this very post, not to mention all our little C4L rallies, End the Fed rallies, etc.
I wonder what a FOIA request to the FedGov to disclose all cash outflows to "non-profits" for "domestic security monitoring" would yield.
Probably nothing, on the basis of "National Security," because all of us who want limited government, less taxes and more freedom while trying to eek out a living, are 'turrrible threats to the System.

I'd suspect that would be the case, just like trying to find out exactly how many "contractors" are left in Iraq.

I may be able to come up with that . I can give you this now . 4500 US special ops troops running operations each day . Then about 49,000 US troops training the Iraqi's .

People with power don't surrender it willingly. They'll be going a lot further in their colaborations before the elections because you can bet your ass that most incumbents are probably sitting in their DC clubhouse thinking they ain't got a care in the world in the elections. Maybe they're right. Do we know they cannot fix the elections?
They certainly haven't gotten their unconstitutional laws in place to act against the entire country. Though I would bet a weeks wages that they have been doing the best they could to make it happen before being stopped in their tracks.

Low ball estimate of 103, 000 .

Most possible would be around 160,000. Based this off of talking to a guy there that said ratio is 2 to 3 per soldier .

So , total soldiers around 53,500 , others 103,000 to 160, 000 . Maybe a total minimum of 156,500 .

I was a little shocked myself when I pulled the calculater out , I was expecting it to be less all together .but we still have the special ops and then you have a Brigade training the Iraqi's , adds up quick . On the plus side , we are down to 500 instructers in Saudi at the airfield .

They have been training groups of civilians of 150 and moving to 300 at Atterbury and Maskatatuck in Indiana . These are mostly engineers and mechanics being trained in first aid and marksmanship. They have done a few thousand this year
