Pretty impressive for a Libertarian candidate to be polling that high. That's less likely to depreciate since it's not really a close race.

Interesting, I've been keeping an eye on this guy for quite a while now. It'd be great to see him poll over 10%. It seems like he is running a decent campaign.

Looks like he has a good chance of holding Deal under 50% and forcing a damn run-off.

Hmmm a lot of them approve of Obama too.

I hate to say this: but could it be because Monds is the only black candidate in the governor's race?

That could certainly by a part of it, although I doubt that most Georgia voters would know who he is, let alone that he is black.

Monds was also head of his local NAACP.

You definitely do not see the liberal vote going to other candidates from LP-GA.

Hell, in this state, libertarians could probably do better winning over liberals than conservatives. The GOP old-guard treats libertarians as if they have leprosy.

very, very impressive, esp. given Barr's poor showing in '08.

I didn't think the small gov't movement was gaining this much ground in GA - cool.

Sadly, it's not always safe to assume that these people support him for legitimate reasons. It's great temporarily, but will there be support for the next candidate in 2 years?
