Dr. Ron Paul will be speaking this weekend at the Values Voters Summit
in Washington, D.C. On Saturday afternoon, they will have a straw
vote. For $9.95 you can register to watch the Summit speeches at the
American Family Association website (http://www.afa.net) and this also
allows you to vote in the straw vote.

This vote is important for several reasons.

1) It is very difficult for a candidate to be nominated without the
endorsement of the religious right. We need to let the Christian
community know the support that Dr. Paul has.

2) Dr. Paul is uniquely positioned to be the darling of the religious
right. In the Values Voter Debate in Florida, he came in second, but
it
was a distant second behind Huckabee. Huckabee does not have the
resources to win this primary race, but Christian radio has been
blathering about how he is God's clear choice based on their straw
poll. When Ron Paul wins this Values Voter poll, they'll be talking
more about him too.

3) Even if you are not a part of the religious right (I am), many of
these people do understand some Constitutional principles and limited
government. They tend to get a little confused though about the place
that federal government should play in moral issues. They see the
opportunity for the federal government to do good in some areas, and so

they forget the Constitution. In other words, they are sometimes
hopefully naive about the ability of the federal government to do good.

Ron Paul's win here will help to wake many of them up.

4) Several important evangelical leaders have already said that they
will not support any of the "top-tier" candidates. They have stated
publicly that if Giuliani or Thompson are nominated, they will either
vote third party or not at all. None of the second-tier candidates has

the ability to win. That's why Ron Paul must be the choice of the
religious right. You can help them see this with this vote.

5) I don't care if you consider yourself a "Values Voter" or not. For
just $10 you can influence how the religious right perceives the mood
of
their base regarding this election. Register, vote and when Ron Paul
wins you won't believe the boost this will give his campaign in
supporters and money.

Remember, the reason that so many online polls are ignored is because
it
is too easy to vote. By requiring people to pay and register, this
poll
is less likely to be ignored.

So go and register at http://www.afa.net

From what I understood, you can vote online as long as you're a member. They will take as little as $1.00 to get to vote in the straw poll.
