They're trying to provoke you. It's like when leftists call people racists just to get them to overreact.

I wouldn't even bother to send a response to the person. But if anyone else asks if what they said were true, I'd show proof they're lying.

She's in Arizona, so no harm in giving her the what-for. Here is my response to the provoation (still awaiting moderation lmao)

LOL Look here, civilian, when I picked up corporal, I carried my bruises proudly for 2 and a half weeks. To this day there is no prouder moment in my life than when my blood stripes were pinned on in memory of the battle of Chapultepec.

One thing Marines know is that the Constitution does not mean just whatever you want to think it means, it means what it says, and it says what it means.

Now you are just inventing nonsense to justify your own meticulously constructed fantasy world, and denying any truth or fact that stands in the way of your creating your own reality.

You have my name, and my website. If you think I am making this up, then why don't you bring suit under the Stolen Valor Act and see how far that flies?

You see, in America, we are not communists or socialists, so you do not own everything that exists in America. The Stolen Valor Act is a prime example of just that fact. If you've never passed in review during the final evolution of Recruit Training at Parris Island or San Diego, then you are NOT a Marine, lady, and you have no place to use the Marine Corps like a prop to advance your fictitious version of the US Constitution.

The Barbary Pirates Wars were Constitutional because they used Letters of Marque and Reprisal -- just as Congressman Paul suggested to go after Al Qaieda in whatever hole they may be hiding. Our current quagmire where my brothers and sisters are spilling their blood in the sands of a country now devoid of Al Qaieda has come about BECAUSE our elected officials ignored the Constitution, laughed at the Constitutional Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and engaged in a war without a declaration.

Al Qaieda is gone from Afghanistan, and we are there fighting and dying.....for what? Al Qaieda did 9/11, not some random ragged fundamentalist with a misogynist worldview. If we were serious about getting justice against Al Qaieda then we would pursue them wherever they went to the ends of the Earth - just as the Constitutional Letters of Marque and reprisal would allow us to do, as Ron Paul suggested back in 2001.

Instead, we are fighting and dying for a war over political correctness, and stand in danger of the same fate as the Soviet Union when they tried to do the same thing.

You have no idea what you are talking about, but like to pretend that you are the supreme arbiter of knowledge on all subjects you care to address. If we had followed Ron Paul's Constitutional suggestion in 2001, then we would have annihilated every member of Al Qaieda by now, and been back home, in peace. Just like Thomas Jefferson did in the Barbary Pirates War when my forebears marched into the halls of Tripoli.

You need to check your mouth young lady, and learn to get the facts before you spout off your blood thirsty fantasies where you send brave men and women you do not know to die for purposes related only to politics and profit.

That proves it. Must be a Marine!!

Gunny == not suited to be a newspaper column author. He writes too well and educated.

On a related note, I'm rather fond or actually unfond of a quote by Henry Hyde when Dr. Paul demanded they pass a Declaration of War on Iraq.

"There are things in the Constitution that have been overtaken by events, by time. Declaration of war is one of them. There are things no longer relevant to a modern society. Why declare war if you don’t have to? We are saying to the President, use your judgment. So, to demand that we declare war is to strengthen something to death. You have got a hammerlock on this situation, and it is not called for. Inappropriate, anachronistic, it isn’t done anymore." --Henry Hyde regarding Declaration of war

And that is from a Republican that chaired the Judiciary Committee from 1995 to 2001, and the House International Relations Committee from 2001 to 2007.

SJ Reidhead has been involved in Republican politics she she was 'a little kid'. During the Reagan years she was a lobbyist working with various non-profit organizations who were attempting to salvage NASA and the American space program after the disastrous Carter years. The Obama Administration appears to be repeating these same disastrous policies. The Pink Flamingo went on line on October 4, 2005, after the author realized "normal" Republicans were being marginalized as the extreme far right attempts to become the new normal. There are very few actual Republicans who blog on a regular basis. The Pink Flamingo is one of these blogs. The Pink Flamingo is basically an unapologetic neo-con!

So this blogger is a former lobbyist, who fought for expanding government agencies, who is a "real Republican" aka "an unapologetic neo-con".

I just got sick.

Sorry you had to have this idiot question your service to our country Glenn.

Or you could spend millions staying out of court so you wouln't have to prove it, like someone else we know.

sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

The reason I don't mind giving her the traffic is that this came from a hit piece she did against Jack Hunter (The Southern Avenger) where she read him the riot act for opposing Lindsay Graham, who in her eyes is a hero for his decades of dedicated service.

Jack Hunter linked her openly from his Facebook, and in my mind a spike of traffic during this period will do little more for her than to demonstrate the fact that Jack has an enormous following. Which will make her cry. :D

Here is the article that Jack Hunter linked (also broken):

hxxp://www.thepinkflamingoblog.com/2010/09/08/the-southern-avengers-grand-inquisition-against-lindsey/

Normally I agree, giving bad sites traffic is a bad thing. However in this case, I am in favor of it mostly because it demonstrates Jack Hunter's enormous influence, which will send her into apoplexy and maybe even eventually catatonia. :D

I agree Gunny. There's nothing wrong with calling out a bad example. It serves to promote the truth.

Hey Gunny, we're making progress. Notice how she lumps the paleocons in with us. :D

The Ron Paul Bot losertarians and the paleocons are now attacking our good Republicans who support fighting and winning the War On Terror. They claim it is not “Constitutional”.

So, she doesn't like the real conservatives, instead preferring the Trotsky-loving Neoconservatives. What a laugh!! She should really read Irving Kristol's book on Neoconservatism and have her eyes popped wide open.

Heh, she admits it...

I think we ought to make this a big deal. She's an embarrassment to herself, so much, its almost genius for us. I say the more publication this gets, the better. I mean, has anyone, even a neocon actually been proud to admit themselves so? Time to wake some people up.. spread this far and wide IMO. Seems like thats what Jack was doing. :)

LMAO - and proud to be a former Lobbyist no less. "Look, this is what big-government pro-lobbyist "Republicans" believe. Do you really want any part of that nonsense?"

The pink flamingo is an obvious satire site promoting libertarians and Ron Paul.

I couldn't do any better than that on electionink.com (formerly The Obama Forum).

(I apologize if I wasn't supposed to expose the joke...)

I, for one, am quite aware of the battles and sacrifices that the Coast Guard have undertaken. Few people know that in WW2 the USCG used to perform joint operations with the Civil Air Patrol to bomb German U-Boats off the Atlantic Coast.

I was vaguely familiar with the actions of the USCG at Guadalcanal due to some assigned reading I had including "Guadalcanal Marine" which focused primarily on actions on the ground. It is always good to learn more, and I salute PO Munro for having the kind of guts to do what few men could imagine for the sake of his fellow servicemen.
