People are concerned about the wars. People are concerned and the man in the White house. Many of us know what is going on with the inflation of the Dollar. Have we thought about what will happen once the Dollar crashes? I have given it a lot of thought. What I came up with is that we will go to a barter system. Gardens, Silver and Gold, Guns and ammo you will have to have. Wait, what about being stocked up on food? I have thought about that also and that is why I am writing to you now. I wasn't referring to service in a strict sense such as that; however, while I agree that production is required for real wealth, non-wealth producing services can still be important so long as the balance isn't skewed like it is in the U.S.

Vaguely speaking, if you had excess food, and I could provide some sort of non-producing services for you that could provide you with more time, you could use that excess time to produce more. This can work, so long as the producer sees value in the service.

Or a service could be something such as your nephew standing guard at night while you sleep. He wouldn't produce something, but his service would be valuable assuming that there would be a liklihood of others attempting to steal your property. If his compensation for that service is food, then both of you could mutually benefit.

Your post was read. I did notice the MLM scheme. I don't actually care in this case, because this is one of the few products where an MLM model might actually be appropriate to the product. LTS foods, and bug-out/survival gear normally traded within insular tightly knot communities would seem to me to be one of the few trade goods that would be appropriate to an honest MLM system (if you could actually find one lol).

Pretty tame. I saw a documentary on Liberia where they believe that eating your enemy's brains will protect you. Cannibalism is common. Rape is around 80% for women, rates are unknown for men since it's rarely reported, but seemingly common.

I suppose eating at restaurants during the initial phase as well as buying up as much freeze-dried+dehydrated+canned foods as possible would be a good starting point; when it initially crashes, you'll be getting a firesale-like bargain on everything; it won't last long though, depending on the severity and the pace; if its extremely fast, forget about the restaurants.

If people are shooting rabbits with rifles, they won't last long on that meat (and they'll run out of bullets/shells for whatever weapons they are unloading on small game). Having a fishing pole, and knowing how to bait/use it, are two different things. The best thing to do if SHTF is to get away from every other Joe. Most Joes will die off, and the scavenger animals that gorge on those carcasses will not be fit to eat. This is why, when things get really tough, you shouldn't eat dogs in particular, or rats, or even squirrels. You should get the hell towards the hills and eat things that know to steer clear of diseased, chemical laden human corpses :p
