Instead of the focus being on the loss of life due to an imperial foreign policy of world domination, 9/11 is being turned into a means to glorify perpetual war. Neoconservatives do indeed have a symbolic alter from which to pray for endless war against the "evil doers", all the while preaching tolerance and acceptance of others religious views.

There is no going back as they say... the decisions have been made and a security apparatus is descending all around. The only hope is bankruptcy and financial ruin to break up the empire.
