The elitists who killed jobs and crushed our economy are the same people who now oppose the three best friends the Colorado taxpayer has seen in a very long time. What are these friends to the Colorado taxpayer? Amendments 60, 61, and Proposition 101.
Who are these elitists that have raised almost six million dollars to try to tax and borrow us into prosperity? Politicians! The big banks! Unions, lobbyists, and out of state interests! Would you agree that these are the very same people that have put YOU, the Colorado taxpayer, into such tough economic times?
WHAT ARE THESE BALLOT ISSUES?
Amendment 60 deals with Property Taxes:
• Restores fair, honest tax elections
• Stops taxation by unelected boards
• Replaces some school taxes by state aid
• Ends illegal tax hikes lacking voter approval
Amendment 61 deals with Government Borrowing:
• Revives 1876 ban on state borrowing
• Requires voter approval before local borrowing
• Limits form, term, and amount of borrowing
• Repays all state and local borrowing
Proposition 101 deals with Tax Relief:
• Sets $10 car registration
• Cuts car taxes in 4 years
• Trims income tax rate 0.1% only IF yearly tax revenue grows 6+%
• Ends taxes and fees (except 911) on phone, pager, cable bills

Let’s analyze this scenario: Our current state/local spending is $45.9 billion. If, by the opposition’s worse case scenario, $5 billion was cut today from total spending, that still allows the SAME spending Colorado had in 2007, which was $40.5 billion (~$8,000 per CO resident)! Are those elitists telling us they couldn’t live within a $40.5 billion state/local spending budget? Taxpayers must bind the spending hands of all politicians by getting the “three amigos” passed. As we know, we can’t trust any politician to cut taxes or to not borrow, so We The People (taxpayers) must make permanent rules for them to follow.
