You see this is the problem that creates liberals.

People mistakenly assume this is capitalism and become socialists who say things like, "Greedy corporations", etc.

But this is not capitalism. It corporatism. Or worse yet, corporate cronyism. There's a big difference!

yeah, when its time to build something so monumental they can't hide it, just use doublespeak. Like with the amnesty bill, calling it immigration reform.

Yes. My problem is, I don't have a problem with the government largely staying out of these issues. The American people have to learn to be responsible. Laws are already on the books to bust anyone from individuals to huge corporations for environmental degradation. It's called destruction of property. Property is what the government should be protecting. Unfortunately, environmentalists in a frenzy of the-sky-is-falling madness want to hand over vast amounts of power to governments all over the world in order to protect us from these "bad guys." I want to shake them and yell, "HEY! The laws already exist!! We don't need anymore laws, and we don't need anymore power being handed to government." When power is centralized, people will seek to take advantage of it. Far too many environmentalists believe the naive notion that "they'll only use those powers for good!" Didn't you kids learn this lesson already in freaking Lord of the Rings? Power corrupts, power corrupts, power corrupts.
So now what we have is a government with access to too much power and influence so that when a corporation should be punished for polluting or degrading property, said corporation jumps in bed with gov't officials, tosses a bunch of money around and has them look the other way. This fact is in such desperate need of being spread around to everyone, left leaning environmentalist types in particular. I know, I was one. The current state of corporatism and cronyism is to blame, NOT free market capitalism. In truly free markets, these companies would have NO ONE to protect them as they do now, and the laws that already exist on the books, could be properly enforced. The free market (in the true sense) is pro-environment!!

Rick perry is the biggest peice of shit and i know personally because im from texas, he likes to build highways to nowhere, and somehow he has it in his head a fence wont fix immigration. A GOVERNER FROM TEXAS. Anyone who is from texas knows a fence with a border patrol every 3 miles along the border(not that hard to do) could END immigration.

Perry is an ass. He didn't get his trans corridor high way and HPV shots for kids passed so he has vetoed more bills past in texas state history! Too bad there was a 4 person race or he probably would have lost his re-election.

You are right. But I am very afraid of the fence. How will we get out if Guliani turns into a dictator?
