Reading the whole 'Soap Opera' article with more garbage for the people to divide... Palin extrapolated points I found interesting:

$13+ Million - she has earned since quitting as Governor of Alaska
$1 Million - annual salary contract with FOX NEWS
Cheap Tipper
Explosive Temper

Sarah Palin: The Sound and the Fury

Even as Sarah Palin’s public voice grows louder, she has become increasingly secretive, walling herself off from old friends and associates, and attempting to enforce silence from those around her. Following the former Alaska governor’s road show, the author delves into the surreal new world Palin now inhabits—a place of fear, anger, and illusion, which has swallowed up the engaging, small-town hockey mom and her family—and the sadness she has left in her wake.

PALIN’S PALADINS
Erratic behavior and a pattern of lying matter little: “Such falsehoods never damage Palin’s credibility with her admirers, because information and ideology are incidental to this relationship.”

Backstage in the arena, a little girl in Mary Janes pushes her brother in a baby carriage, stopping a few yards shy of a heavy, 100-foot-long black curtain. The curtain splits the arena in two, shielding the children from an audience of 4,000 people clapping their hands in time to “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.” The music accompanies a video “Salute to Military Heroes” that plays above the stage where, in a few moments, the children’s mother will appear.

When the girl, Piper Palin, turns around, she sees her parents thronged by admirers, and the crowd rolling toward her and the baby, her brother Trig, born with Down syndrome in 2008. Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, bend down and give a moment to the children; a woman, perhaps a nanny, whisks the boy away; and Todd hands Sarah her speech and walks her to the stage. He pokes the air with one finger. She mimes the gesture, whips around, strides on four-inch heels to stage center, and turns it on.

And how. Palin and the crowd might as well be one. She’s glad to be here with the people of Independence, Missouri, “where so many of you proudly cling to your guns and your religion”—the first laughline in a 40-minute stump speech that alludes to many of the perceived insults she and her audience have suffered together, and that transforms their resentments into badges of honor. Palin waves her scribbled-on palm to the crowd, proclaiming that she’s using “the poor man’s teleprompter.” Of the Obama administration, she says, “They talk down to us. Especially here in the heartland. Oh, man. They think that, if we were just smart enough, we’d be able to understand their policies. And I so want to tell ’em, and I do tell ’em, Oh, we’re plenty smart, oh yeah—we know what’s goin’ on. And we don’t like what’s goin’ on. And we’re not gonna let them tell us to sit down and shut up.”

“Sarah Palin’s Shopping Spree: Yes, There’s More... (http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2010/10/sarah-palin-spending-201010),” by Michael Joseph Gross.

The crowd’s ample applause at these lines swells to something vastly bigger when Palin vows defiantly that “come November, we’re taking our country back!” The phrase plays on the name of this event, “Winning America Back,” which has been billed as a Tea Party rally organized by a grassroots Missouri political-action committee that no one had heard of until a few months ago, when the event was announced...

Only half-way through reading this thing, but I'm not shocked at all that someone like Palin who strives for power and will tailor her principles to the most convenient of the situation - much like Obama - is a sociopath. It is alarming but not unexpected how many are easily huckstered in.

Having seen the stuff the media is spinning about Rand, and the lack of concrete evidence for that, I do think they start with a meme (say, explosive temper) add any facts that support that and deduct any facts that don't. It is clear that the author wants to persuade people not to like her, and everything in there has to be viewed through that biased lens. The idea that all her friends clam up about her sounds like an internal desire to protect her, to me, for example, rather than anything devious. But media sees lack of willingness to blab about whatever they want to tear apart as some sort if insidious plot, just as a general rule.

And sometimes they miss the mark. For example, Bill Kristol mentoring her on her 'voice' conjurs up her sitting crosslegged at his feet as he puts marbles in her mouth along the lines of Eliza Doolittle, and I couldn't care less if it were true. (Though it is somewhat amusing to think of Sarah Palin wanting to come off as another Bill Kristol.) But they don't even mention his neoconservative 101 foreign policy briefings being her primary exposure to bring her up to speed on various aspects. This I find of much greater concern. I think it is very possible she is a well intentioned person and a federalist, who just hadn't needed to be immersed previously in foreign policy. That actually kind of goes along with minding our own business, in a sense, given she was a state executive, not a federal one. But even in that scenario, Kristol taking her more in depth education in hand is unsettling.

However, I found it interesting that she supposedly never hunted, since that is a fairly major part of her mystique.

We always have to remember the decline of "Print Media" and you do what you do in MSM to "Up The Ratings", especially if your media company is losing money and/or market share of the the declining industry sector. The Biased Media... Sarah Palin is all but an opportunist. She will go whichever way the wind of power/money blows. She's a prostitute to the Nth power... just like so many within the Washington DC beltway.

We have to always remember that after Juan McCain choose Palin as VP running mate and when she arrived in Denver, she wasn't allow to speak to anyone in public or the media. Sarah Palin had her itinerary canceled/rescheduled, she was "B-Lined" directly to AIPAC's secured hotel suites: "For Judgment and Indoctrination by the AIPAC Council" ...it was so secure, that AIPAC took hotel floors, not just the suites.

Still I think CNN's Jack Cafferty stated it best during the Situation Room coverage about Palin, CBS Katie Curic's interview in September 2008, when Palin gave her Miss Teen South Carolina impression. That said... here's that great clip of Simple-Minded Politician for a Simple Minded America:
