Sorry, I will have to come up with something else for Constitution Day.

The speaker fee was going to be $3500
The venue was going to be $1500
The equipment rental would have come to $1500 to $2000
The promotion could have reached as high as $3000

and we just don't have the $7000 - $10,000 to spend.

It was a great idea, and would have had a tremendous impact on this district both short and long term, but the campaign just can't afford it. Jacque and I were planning on going $3k each in the hole PERSONALLY to make it happen, (woulda left the both of us flat broke) but even then the campaign just doesn't have the $4k remaining.

Sorry guys. I'll try and come up with something good for Constitution Day. Don't hesitate to share ideas if you have them.

We don't need a fancy event. The only thing that matters is that you win. :p

It's OK, we can probably just reform the event around Lennie McAlister and make it a pure Constitutionalist event set up as a Frederick Douglass Town Hall. Secure a smaller venue at $700 total, and come away spending about $1200 to $1500 total and have almost as much impact.

Looks like you are doing great on a small budget Gunny.

no negotiation on the speaker fee?

no negotiation on the speaker fee?

Even if we could, the cost-benefit is just not there. We'd still need the larger venue, the fancier PA system etc, and unless we dropped closer to $4k on promotion alone, the turnout may not have justified the 1440 seat arena. The cost-benefit would be positive IF we could afford to do it right. The half-ass approach is just not an option.

A Town Hall would be great since it would give you great name recognition and you can do the traditional handshaking and talking to people in your district. Don't forget to solicit donations or remind them of the moneybomb. Hopefully we'll raise enough money that day to cover the costs you'll incur.

I agree. Many questions and maybe some options but in the end it is this.

I have contacted Lenny McAllister via pm on Facebook and emailed Kevin Daniels about the change. I think there are better ways to spend your money then on the original plan. I tired to negotiate but their contract was firm. I had this bad gut feeling but did not want to disappoint you all and especially Gunny.

The event will be bigger and better. That's the name of the game.

Understood. The cash isn't there. IT DAMN WELL SHOULD BE!

You and Gunny will make the best of it. Your best is limited by our contributions that is the shame.

That sucks but if anyone can come out on top regardless, it's you.

I was already concerned this could soak up so much campaign cash that you'd be left high and dry during the final weeks anyway.
