Even on the platform of fear, people are a lot more afraid of Obama's agenda than they are of Rand Paul. That he can be counted on to stand up against it is a HUGE selling point for his candidacy, and these repeated 'he's against 'progress'' complaints are easily seen as 'he's against Obama's agenda'.... which is exactly what the people of Kentucky are hoping, to begin with.
