The US has 2 of them, Los Angeles and Phoenix (not Chicago & NYC?)

By comparison Africa only has 1!

Don't worry! Someone will invent a spacesuit that people can wear that filters the smog so they will be able to breathe and to see. They will make tons of money. You gotta look at the bottom line; but ya gotta be able to see it.

Why is that surprising?

Why is that surprising?

I thought they'd have the least technology and most outdated industry, which creates pollution, or in contrast, they could have no industry at all, making there less pollution.

Pollution is not a sign of technology or poverty, but a sign of development and transition.

I live in Phoenix. It isnt that bad. I call BS.

Although...we do have spectacular sunsets. I always thought it was because of the dust and desert sand...maybe I was wrong?

According to Huffington Post..... They are not a legit news site. I call B.S on Arizona, and well the whole list.

Your reasoning?

If you're going to make an argument, at least provide content.

Anyone who lives in smog with broken windows is a fool.

What is there to provide when Huffington Post created the list? It is only the 9 most polluted places on earth according to them with little detail on how it was scored, and people are discussing this like its fact.

I disagree with their opinion. Logic would dictate that developing and, or poor countries, with overcrowded populations, dirty water, sewage problems, etc have a much lower life expectancy, and greater health concerns from pollution. I doubt America dominates the list, or even comes close to countries like China and India when factoring everything in.

While I have no desire to visit Pheonix , I am very suspicious that it makes top 10 in the world.

The title of the article is "9 of the most polluted places in the world".

The title of this thread is "9 most polluted places in the world". Quite different.

Here is a list of the most polluted places in the world, none of which are in the US.

WaltM, you need to change the title of this thread because it is misleading.

Yep, the Time list makes sense, with alot of China and India.

Huffington Post is shit. Phoenix among the most polluted places on earth? Yeah right, nice try though.

You mean...you actually go outside...

Ive forgotten what that looks like...

At least during the summer days (But who goes out during that anyways? I go from an air conditioned house to an air conditioned car to an air conditioned work place...etc.). Summer nights are 80 degrees. Fall spring and winter are all swimming weather.

Yes , the real list looks more credible , two in China , Russia and India each , one in Peru , and of course the one in Ukraine we all know about.

I feel ripped. I grew up in Herculaneum, MO which was once found to be 2nd or 3rd in the world in volume of dangerous air pollution. No mention here. I guess I have to take some pictures of children playing on a slag heap.
