Washington, D.C. — If the 2012 presidential election were held today, and the race was between Democrat President Barack Obama, Republican candidate Mitt Romney, and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg running as an independent, Romney would prevail. This according to a recent poll conducted August 20-23 by Zogby International of 2,062 likely voters.

Romney is THE epitome of the establishment.
If he becomes the next puppet in the White House, it'd be just the same as Obama.

Seems like a natural progression for a docile America.

Beck is not running for president. He can make 32 million a year or he can make 400,000 a year. I know what I would chose.

If only there was evidence for that statement...

I see no reason to think that anyone on that poll , currently would not beat Obama and Bloomberg .

YUp. (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-rise-and-certain-fall-of-the-american-empire-2010-03-09?pagenumber=2)

"Most great nations, at the peak of their economic power, become arrogant and wage great world wars at great cost, wasting vast resources, taking on huge debt, and ultimately burning themselves out." We sense the "consummation" of the American Empire occurred with the leadership handoff from Bill Clinton to George W. Bush.

Unfortunately that peak is behind us: Clinton, Bush, Henry Paulson, Ben Bernanke, Sarah Palin, Barack Obama, Mitt Romney and all future American leaders are merely playing their parts in the greatest of all historical dramas, repeating but never fully grasping the lessons of history in their insatiable drive for "economic progress," to recapture former glory ... while unwittingly pushing our empire to the edge, into collapse.

I have a hard time believing the GOP base will support a Mormon.

He'll be wiped clean in the debates.

All these polls now have little to no relevance when the primary debates take place....everything will change.

I thought he probably would not run . If he does , there should be people who can out debate him.

There's a difference between listening to someone on the radio and voting them President. Beck got somewhere between 50 thousand and a million at his rally. You need a lot more than that to be President.

If he got the nomination he would have a very good chance of winning. But the question is can you get the GOP base to support him over "one of their own". Of that I am far more skeptical.

Ron Paul had 12k attending the Rally for the Republic. Yet he was within 6-9% of primary Republican voters. Extrapolate it out and according to what you have to say Beck could definitely win the Republican nomination.

Beck has no shot at president. Its not even worth talking about.

I would bet $1000 right now if he ran he would win the GOP nomination.....president, that's a whole different story but he could hands-down win the GOP nom if he so wanted.

He wouldn't win the GOP nomination for the simple fact that he would get annihilated in the general election. He would be the Hillary Clinton of the GOP. Too many people hate him, and hate him passionately.

Don't worry Romney will open his mouth and remind people what a smarmy douche bag he is.

Barf. Forget it. Romney will NOT be the R nominee. Never. Ever. He would get utterly destroyed. It would be equal to the McCain ridiculousness. (Unless the PTB want Soetoro again. Romney = perfect choice). The public does not want Soetoro again and the PTB know it. They BADLY miscalculated last election. If Soetoro is elected again there may be rioting in the streets at all levels. Depends on whether rioting in the streets is what they want..

If the GOP wants to play ball they need to nominate Ron or Rand in 2012. Otherwise just toss it back to the Rothchilds and ask 'em what they want in the new political environment.

On 9/5 a bunch of us did a Zogby poll that included Ron Paul vs. Obama. They're the results I'm interested in.

If the GOP wins big in the upcoming elections, I wouldn't doubt Romney or Newt or even Palin would push for the nomination because they think they'd have a shot at the seat of power.
