Months ago, when folks pointed out that Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor (http://www.glennbeck.com/828/)" rally at the Lincoln Memorial was on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, Beck declared he had done so inadvertently.

On 'The Glenn Beck Program (http://television.aol.com/show/glenn-beck/10408424/main)' (weekdays 5 PM ET on Fox News) Thursday, Beck all-out embraced this "coincidence."

He had on MLK's niece Alveda King, who will also be speaking at Beck's rally, and Beck spent the segment fishing for comparisons between himself and her uncle -- which Alveda was more than happy to provide.

At one point, Beck bragged that Root Magazine had voted him the "blackest white man in America." This encouraged Alveda King to address how she responds to those who doubt Beck's commitment to improving race relations.

"People keep calling me, and I'm talking to the media, and I said 'Didn't you hear Glenn Beck say we are one race, and that we need to got along,'" Alveda King explained. "I said 'you didn't mind when my uncle said we need to learn to live together or perish as fools. But if Glenn Beck says something very similar ...'"

I do not think Beck often has guests. There are two that I really enjoy. Alveda and Historian D. Barton. As an extra bonus , if you have never seen it , there is the G. Gordan Liddy gold commercial that is entertaining. I always fast forward through commercials though.

Why won't the media - even my LOCAL media - admit that the Tea Party divide doesn't fall nearly as cleanly along racial lines as the pundits have been saying?!

When I was younger, I expected close to perfection from myself and others. If others did meet my measure, I rejected the totality of what they said and offered. I have since learned we are all human, and our best quality is our worst depending on how we use it...me included.

I do not agree with everything Glenn Beck says, but to reject everything he says because I don't always agree, is throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I too love to hear Alveda King, and like she says; I try not to hate. Hate or anger robs me of clarity.

are we to hear a future president speak at the tea party rally today if we are to hear
ms. sarah palin, glenn beck and ms. alveda king hand us all their 2 cents about D.C...?
the reason for the rally is a desire for a consensus beyond glenn beck's sensibilities all.

I find Alveda to be inspiring. Her obvious honesty and sincerity are refreshing in this day and age.
