Months ago, when folks pointed out that Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor (http://www.glennbeck.com/828/)" rally at the Lincoln Memorial was on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, Beck declared he had done so inadvertently.
On 'The Glenn Beck Program (http://television.aol.com/show/glenn-beck/10408424/main)' (weekdays 5 PM ET on Fox News) Thursday, Beck all-out embraced this "coincidence."
He had on MLK's niece Alveda King, who will also be speaking at Beck's rally, and Beck spent the segment fishing for comparisons between himself and her uncle -- which Alveda was more than happy to provide.
At one point, Beck bragged that Root Magazine had voted him the "blackest white man in America." This encouraged Alveda King to address how she responds to those who doubt Beck's commitment to improving race relations.
"People keep calling me, and I'm talking to the media, and I said 'Didn't you hear Glenn Beck say we are one race, and that we need to got along,'" Alveda King explained. "I said 'you didn't mind when my uncle said we need to learn to live together or perish as fools. But if Glenn Beck says something very similar ...'"
Glenn Beck as a latter-day Martin Luther King.
