Want to host Ron Paul on your campus?

You do!? Well, fortunately and unfortunately, so do a lot of other YAL chapters across the country -- and Dr. Paul is a busy man.

Many YAL chapters have big plans for this fall. They're going to bring Ron Paul AND Tom Woods AND Judge Napolitano to campus; they're going to raise a bunch of money and throw a huge event with thousands of people in attendance! Sound familiar?

Sadly, hosting Dr. Paul on campus is not as simple as it sounds. It is a unique opportunity that requires a comprehensive proposal, lots of time, fundraising, and several hundred petition signatures.

But don't despair! YAL wants Ron Paul to visit your campus, too, so my staff and I have put together a guide for you to learn how to bring the good doctor to your campus.

Learn how to bring Ron Paul to YOUR campus! (http://yaliberty.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f1340031d3e25504f5712bcb1&id=9b59353a63&e=54fe88d4b3)

If you follow the instructions in this guide, produce a creative and thorough application, and collect petition signatures on your campus; you will have a real opportunity to bring Dr. Paul to your school. He loves the enthusiasm of young people and enjoys speaking on college campuses more than anywhere else -- but it's up to you to convince him to visit yours.

Please don't hesitate to contact me or the Regional Director or State Chair for your area (http://yaliberty.us1.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=f1340031d3e25504f5712bcb1&id=ed0563a8f8&e=54fe88d4b3) if you have any questions about this process. We're here to help you have a productive fall semester...and maybe schedule a visit from THE Ron Paul!

P.S. -- Within the next few weeks, YAL will announce the first YAL chapter that will host Dr. Ron Paul on campus this semester. Be sure you have take advantage of this opportunity, so you can add your campus to the list.

I don't think we can stress this enough.

The more, and regionally diverse, appearances Dr. Paul makes throughout this 2010/2011 school year could prove vital:

1) Dr. Paul already stated gauging support will be a major part of his decision to run or not. If he has numerous college visits (and hopefully at least one high school visit- that'd be amazing!) he will actually SEE the level of support he has. And the more kids interested in liberty-the more excitement!

2) These major events can really make a YAL chapter explode at a school! Educating the youth is critical for future success and of course success in 2012.

3)We need the name Ron Paul, the idea of liberty, the slogan "end the fed" to really begin penetrating culture. Think about it, every single event brings all local media / school media / and major media outlets out to cover. Television, radio, print- basically if we approach this as a bunch of small "Rally for the Republics" (minus the plethora of speakers), our message and credibility will soar.

4) Its not only college kids, these events bring in all residents of surrounding towns. 1,000 people may attend a speech, but the amount of people hearing these ideas will be triple that!

5) If, IF, RP runs in 2012, setting up these events will only prepare us better for setting up larger college events during the campaign.

So please, if you have a YAL chapter, fill out the information and get in the Ron Paul Speech College Sweepstakes!

If Larry Lepard is still looking for ways to invest in the liberty movement, getting ron paul to college campuses would be a good foundation for him to start.
People could apply for grants to get Ron to the campus.
At the events, movies like For Liberty could be sold.

Strategically, YAL must focus on getting Ron to as many campuses in Iowa as possible. That should be priority #1 with this effort.

Get college students across Iowa ready to travel in huge numbers to Ames for the 2011 straw poll. It's absolutely essential that Ron win that poll: http://dougwead.wordpress.com/2008/12/11/how-ron-paul-wins-in-2012-step-one/

That probably wouldn't be hard since he is only 30 miles away (or less).

the website gives you an estimate of about $5000, which would include venue, PA, travel expenses, security, advertising, etc.
so, it is possible to do it for less. if you can get a venue at no cost, a PA and crew at no cost, with security included.
then you can focus resources on travel expenses which can't be escaped, and advertising for the event which is a must.

$5,000 is not a bad price for the amount of good this can do.
