I need H-stakes for signs, my best price is $0.50 each plus shipping. If anybody knows a better (cheaper) supplier, please let me know! I need to purchase 300 of them. As of right now, I can get them for about $200, but I would like to pinch those pennies even tighter than that so I keep funds for the big production run of slimjims this coming tuesday/wednesday.

Thanks!

That is a fairly good price, actually, for the quantity desired.

Only know of one cheaper (http://www.signline.com/sign_stakes.shtml) off the top of my head.

Here's something someone mentioned to me in '08 that you might try. But you'll have to make sure it works before you invest anything in it beyond a few bucks to experiment.

Buy big panels of steel mesh for concrete reinforcing at a home improvement store or some place like that (maybe find out where the local concrete contractors get theirs) and then cut them into H's. The thickness of the metal and the spacing of the mesh have to be right to work with your signs. But it comes in different sizes, so you might be able to work it. The other consideration with this is the time it will take to cut them. But if you can do that, then I think you'll be able to beat 50 cents each.

In NM we cut them in half and got two for one. This was mostly because of what the wicked winds would do to signs.

We found they looked much classier standing stiff, lower to the ground... We kept a supply of full size as well, for high grass etc, but found the low ones stood out and looked great (especially in people's yards :D ).

It seems that I can get them at $0.10 each if I order 1000 of them from China and take a(n extra?) week for delivery...

hmmmmm.......

(and yes, the U-frames can be made to work - with extreme difficulty - but we do not have but 50 ~ish of them.)

Is there a minimum number of H stakes you need to order to be eligible for the 50 cent price?

Gunny, I have a partial box of leftovers from RP 08. Not sure how many are in there. I can send them to you if you give me your mailing address.

Can't find where I laid the ad now (I think it came by mail and is in the truck), but I can take hold of it within a day I know. I seem to recall that being the 200+ piece price.

That would be outstanding if you can -- don't be afraid to send the campaign a bill for shipping either. :)

Ditto this. We did the same thing with Ron Paul signs back in the day.

also, your local ron paul meet-up groups probably have tons of these stakes from the '08 campaign. hopefully they were smart enough to save them.

Glen, I have around a hundred or so stakes, all sizes and types.

After each election, I go around and collect ALL the signs. They are great for rallies, I use some in the garden in the paths between rows and under the compost pile.

The stakes are not as useful for any of the above. PM me your address and the h x w that you prefer and I'll send what I have to you.

I'm such a pack rat, "repurposer"...the husband threw away some mufflers off the race truck and I pulled them out of the trash, upended them over some threaded rod and made tall, shiny hose guards in the garden....LOL

50c is a great price for stakes. I just ordered signs and I couldn't get them for less than 95c. My candidate wanted to buy locally, though, so we'd be getting the middleman price. Turns out our local GOP chair does what rancher does and so we don't have to buy them at all.
