I just dug thru OpenSecrets.org and dug out this data, you can plainly see that Ron's volunteers are worth their weight in gold (well maybe silver):

Source: OpenSecrets.org

Expenditures: "Salaries & Benefits" by Candidate:

Ron Paul $146,035 (not including aproximately $17,000 in consulting fees)
Mitt Romney $5,553,537 (not including consulting fees in excess of $2,000,000)
Rudolph W. Giuliani $4,202,462 (not including consulting fees in excess of $2,500,000)
John McCain $5,416,710 (not including consulting fees in excess of $2,500,000)
Fred Thompson - No Data Reported
Sam Brownback $301,139 (not including aproximately $75,000 in consulting fees)
Tom Tancredo $415,358 (not including aproximately $24,000 in consulting fees)
Mike Huckabee $231,768 (not including aproximately $187,000 in consulting fees)

That's good but it's time to start spending. The media will pay more attention if we buy ads from them. For every dollar we spend getting the message out, we'll bring in $10 in donations.

I wholeheartedly disagree.

The state of affairs in big spending blitzes is that in this short-term memory society, a month is a year, and to waste millions now instead of spending the dollars closer to the primaries would be a horriffic miscalculation in my opinion given the free publicity and momentum he is enjoying.

Relax, Ron Paul knows what he is doing. To complain here about him being too frugal with VERY limited funds is pointless. He lost in 1988 and I seriously doubt he wants to lose again. He knows more than any of us what is at stake.

These numbers are just what is spent on Staff, not on advertising.

Paid "volunteers" aren't cheap...

Paid "volunteers" aren't cheap...

I salute you on that.

I've probably given $1300 directly to the campaign.

AND given about $500 to these chipin movements. One has failed:mad: and got money back.

With putting out signs and thinking where to put them, it really all takes a toll.

BUT, there is NO alternative. I am full bore into saving this country and Ron Paul is the answer.

There is simply no alternative; therefore, my footsteps continue to move forward.

If we don't market Ron Paul correctly then none of this matters. See the following post:

Don't think that the 5.4 Million that Ron Paul has is going to go far. Once he starts to really put out the advertising he will blow through that really quickly. I urge Dr. Paul, when the time comes before the primaries and during the early primaries, to spend the money he is currently getting that quarter and to not hold on to it. If we raise the $12 Mil this quarter and then shoot for $20 mil the quarter after that, he needs to spend every drop of whatever we have raised up to that point. He has to step up to the plate, sling his balls on the table and say, I'm here to win and take those bastards down during the primaries. If he doesn't win the primaries it's over.

check today's press conference, they plan on spending it all AND getting 12 million this quarter as well :)

Obviously he's going to spend the money as its coming in. Iowa is the week after Q4 ends, so I'm sure he'll be running advertising well before that. Right now Ron's major concern is increasing his name recognition, because we know the message resonates well once we can get it to people.

Iowa is getting radio blitzed right now.

This morning I heard an ad - then at lunch I heard another ad.

Nothing perks me up at work more then turning the dial and hearing Ron Paul say "I'm Ron Paul and I approve this message".

what do you reckon Romney's paying his kids?

that'd be an interesting thing for potential
donors to find out considering the whole
debt repayment thing.

hmmmm..... possibly the makings of a good hitpiece.
