To my knowledge, Ron Paul thinks that the Executive Order has been used far too often, and perhaps even thinks that the President should have no Executive Order power at all.

However, if elected President, would Ron Paul use this power as a quick means to repeal and abolish some of the legislation, agencies, etc.? Would he use it to pardon non-violent drug offenders as a means to the end of the War on Drugs?

Furthermore, would you find his use of the Executive Order hypocritical?

I'd love to see him use EO's that way, but I believe he thinks they are unconstitutional.

Order more pens and paper to refill the White House stationary.

He would use it to ban future Executive Orders.

You can bet if he used them, he would do it constitutionally.

So in other words, I don't think he'd use the Executive Order to abolish the Department of Education, etc....he COULD use it to withdraw our troops and to end our world empire, which would be fantastic.

Pardons, I believe, are a separate power from the Executive Order.

I've often wondered about this. From what I understand all the domestic agencies and departments are under the executive branch - meaning he would be the boss.
I would think there would be some mechanism for him to fire anyone he wanted that worked for him and shut down any "business division", like the Department of Education.

Without touching medicare, programs for the mentally ill/disabled, FDA and NIH he could gut much of crap in that $845 billion dollar HHS budget.

He could the use some of the money saved to re-fund social security for those of us that paid into it.
