It looks like RP spoke earlier but will not attend the dinner, at least according to the Hill.

At $5000 a head, this dinner is more like a who's who of war profiteers. Sadly, I don't think that Dr Paul will be garnering much support from these 700 people. Wish we had a crowd of 1000+ outside ready to receive Dr. Paul. At events like this we need to showcase that our support is real, mobile and always in support of Dr. Paul regardless of where he goes.

True, but even if there were 0 supporters outside for Ron Paul and he knew he'd get ridiculed you know he would still speak his mind. That is why Ron Paul is my hero.

Luckily Guiliani and Thompson apparently had other things to do tonight than court the high dollar audience. Too bad for them... maybe a few turned to support Ron Paul. ( doubt it... as I said, it's a who's who event for war profiteering)

The crowd sat largely silent through Paul’s talk – except when he proposed abolishing the income tax, when people put their hands together.
But Paul made no mention of the war. He spoke instead of his vision of libertarian freedoms.

Paul spoke of his robust fundraising and his work on the Internet – citing 1,000 Meet-Up groups organized online. Young people are willing to listen to his message, he said. It’s a message of “limited government… free enterprise…. balanced budget… personal privacy… ‘’

“We have a right to our lives, we have a right to our pursuit of happiness and we ought to have a right to keep the fruits of our labor,’’ said Paul. “Ultimately our goal ought to be to get rid of the income tax.’’ And that was a line that played very well here.

Hopefully he speaks about his domestic agenda - namely cutting taxes and illegal immigration. Gotta lure them in before you hit them with the negative stuff.

This crowd probably doesn't care much about the illegal immigration issue too much, they are the ones who profit off the cheap labor. They wouldn't mind the tax cut though, removing a 30%+ tax on their multiple millions would be a massive amount of money back in their wallets.
