There is an opponent and it was a contested Democratic Primary, go figure. He'll win automatically though. No need throwing money at this House race that has already been won.

He beat the three also rans in the primary hands down. The general isn't an issue. Ron Paul is the rare outsider/incumbent, so he can skate.

The campaign didn't even bother with a birthday barbeque bash this year. He will do just fine. Living here in the 14th district, the Democrat hasn't even been visible outside of his own party's events.
