View Full Version : Almost busted at work!

I work the graveyard shift at a very busy hotel. We have over a hundred rooms and we sell out every night. Since discovering Ron Paul 3 weeks ago, all the guests who have been staying here have found Ron Paul fliers on the windshields of their cars when they wake up, or, have found a full page ad inserted into their complimentary newspaper. On a side note; Ron Paul fliers have mysteriously been appearing at all the busy intersections nearby.

Anyways, I've abstained from the viral marketing for the past week, because I instead wanted to be more vocal and interact with the guests when they check in. In other words, I can't do guerrilla marketing here and tell everyone about Ron when they check in, or they will put 2 + 2 together. So today is the first day that I starting asking EVERY guest if they've heard of Ron Paul (after laying off the viral stuff for a week). Well, I just asked this dude if he's heard of Ron Paul, and he said "no." A second later he said, "no wait a minute, I think he's running for President and he's going to speak here at the campus." I asked him why he thought that Ron was speaking here (Ron isn't coming here) and he stated that he'd never heard of Ron Paul until last week. He said that when he checked out last week that he had a Ron Paul flier on his windshield, so he looked him up and saw that he's running for president.

LOL. I told the guy that was funny, because I've seen Ron Paul stuff on telephone poles all over town.

I do the same at my work

At the theater I get so many bills that on my downtime I write either ronpaul2008.com or GOOGLE RON PAUL to increase name recognition.

This just gave me a great idea.

Might as well write "Ron Paul for President" on every bill I mail in with a check.

Credit Card applications also.

Anything with a reply envelope.

We don't have kids yet, but I know this; I will be telling my grandkids of this historic time.

Definitely! I told my kids that they are very lucky, that I have never gone to a rally for a presidential candidate when I was their age. The older one's excited. His birthday is Veterans Day and he wants to meet Ron for his birthday.

Perhaps with a Paul presidency, those fliers could be made from much more renewable hemp.

What do you guys think about putting flyers in newspapers? I mean, for a buck or two the newspaper box can be opened up and there you have all those newspapers waiting for someone to well, insert something? I know you can't take out more than one paper or it' stealing, but putting something in? Is that wrong?

I love the idea.

Consider it a favor. You are giving the reader a bookmark with informative Ron Paul literature printed on it.

The Sons of Liberty (http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9805E4D61E39E033A2575AC1A9679D94 639ED7CF) would condone this behavior in my opinion.

These are smaller, but you can stick them in all kinds of spots:

I wasn't sure about them either until I read this post and turned to Google. As of 30 minutes ago, I ordered 100. :)

I sell TV's part time on the weekends. I don't mention it to every customer, but I have introduced a few to him. During the summer, I had the debates running on our one tv hooked up to Dish. My co-workers have heard quite a bit about him.

I wish I worked at a place that gets a bunch of newspapers delivered. I'm thinking I might take a second job delivering sunday papers just so I can place Ron Paul flyers in all of them...and have extra cash to donate of course. :)

If they get mad at me oh well...I have another job anyway.

There was a Virginia Tech game tonight. All of the hotels raise their rates big time for these home games. People are paying $179 a night to stay at my hotel tonight! What does a $179-a-night hotel get you? A 28-year-old guy behind the front counter who is wearing a "Ron Paul for President" shirt =)
Working nights without the boss around has its perks.

I just checked a guy in and he was like "who is Ron Paul?" Before I could answer his girlfriend was like "duh, he's running for President, just like his shirt says. Haven't you seen his signs all over Richmond?"

Good job Ron Paul peeps over in Richmond, VA! Keep putting those signs up!

[edit] 5 older guys (in their late 40's) just walked by. One of them asked "is that a Duke shirt?" I was like "no, Ron Paul" and one of the old guys gave a thumbs up and yelled "Ron Paul! Go Internet!"
