Drew Carey Shows His Libertarian Colors

News Max
October 16, 2007

Comedian Drew Carey, who debuted Monday as the host of “The Price Is Right,” is showing his libertarian colors by participating in a series of videos for the Reason Foundation’s new Web site Reason.tv.

The short videos will focus on the libertarian think tank’s belief in what it calls “free minds and free markets.”

Carey said in a statement issued by Reason: “We need Reason to help fight the stupid drug laws, the stupid immigration laws, and stupid big government in general.”
...

More recently, he has expressed his distaste for the Bush administration’s handling of the Iraq war.

This is awesome!

Drew Carey needs to show some support maybe doing some stand up comedy on Ron Paul events or just introducing RP on stage. That would be amazing.

He's a great libertarian...I've even seen him wear a Reason t-shirt on his show.

He's against protecting the border, however.

many libertarians support open borders ;)

1. let states control their borders
2. stop mandating states to provide entitlements
3. no federal fence/wall

do away with documentation :p

goals of this policy:

1. responsibility falls with the states
2. privacy and increased civil liberties

He was on Bill Maher's show a few weeks ago. Do not remember him saying anything noteworthy about Dr. Paul or libertarianism. Of course, I was reading this forum, could've missed it. :o

I remember when he went on Penn Jillette's show a while back. Good episode. He sems to be a very liberty-minded guy.

It wouldn't surprise me if he endorses RP, but who knows?

Then we might as well end this union as it stands if federal is no longer responsible for defending the country.

well, this is what we had going in the 19th century. open passage. it only sounds bad because we are subsidizing illegal immigration (as Ron Paul has stated) we just have to stop doing that

What about sponsoring the show? You know, putting RP's book or a hat or a shirt in as one of the priced items?
