This has nothing to do with Ron Paul but I thought I'd show it anyway. I think this is one of the more interesting campaign videos I've seen.

he also has one called fire

I'm not a fan of Gravel but I love these kinds of videos.

This was a post in the CNN blog:

Mike Gravel deserves in this discussion as well. His YouTube videos are consistently at the top. He gets huge digg ratings. Ron Paul supporters should be equally clamoring for more from Mike Gravel. Just as Gravel supporters are pushing along Ron Paul too. We’re voting for Paul in online polls. You help us too.

They might be on to something. Maybe we should combine forces for certain goals. I would not present myself as a potential Gravel voter as long as Ron Paul is in the race, but I would gladly sing petitions and such demanding that Gravel receive air time.

Should we i-wander to some Gravel camps and initiate some chats? Maybe one of the mods here would be best suited to open "official" talks.

This is politics, after all.

I've pitched Gravel to a lot of hardcore Dems who refuse to consider a Republican. I think the divisions in the Republican party have helped fuel Dr. Paul a great deal in a way that Gravel has not been able to take advantage of in his own party - so I'll be voting in the Republican primary for Dr. Paul, personally. Mr. Gravel is a good guy, with a good record, too. He's far and away the only good guy on the Dems side of the aisle.

By the way, his name is pronounced gra-vehl, not grah-vuhl. :)

I'm thinking I must be an idiot because I just don't get these videos. I watched them both twice and I still don't get them.

He is a socialist in some ways, but nobody is perfect.

Also this youtube of him really pissed me off that he didn't recognize Ron Paul, and it showed his very few supporters are pretty much bastards:

Lastly, Gravel should be honored to be mentioned with Ron Paul. RP has so much more $ and support it is not even close. IMO, Gravel is a good guy but RP partnering with him is a step backwards.

No I am not usggesting that RP partner with him. I am only suggesting that perhaps RP shoud partner with other 2nd tier candidates when it comes to things like campaigns to get more time for 2nd tier candidates.

I'm thinking I must be an idiot because I just don't get these videos. I watched them both twice and I still don't get them.

I guess they need a bit of an explanation. Both the videos are basically performance art. In Rock you see him standing there for a good minute staring into the camera. He doesn't say a word and instead walks over, picks up a rock (a rather large one mind you) and throws it into a pond. This is a representation of him disturbing the calm and status quo of the Democratic Party. He makes a splash, he disrupts the pond.

After throwing the rock he then walks away continuing down the path. From the right side of the screen a lone man walks out of the woods and begins to follow him. Without the camera moving you get a since that this is the beginning of a large group of people waiting just out of view that will also begin to follow him down the same path. From one rock comes a wave of support. -the end-

Fire is also a metaphor. Gravel is seen walking along and picking up sticks. These sticks represent ideas, thoughts, innovation. He then puts these sticks in a pile and lights them on fire, fire representing burning passion. He has created a fire (passion) from his sticks and twigs (thoughts and ideas). -the end-

BTW, I agree that we should support his supporters as well. They've been civil and support us... it's good to repay the favor. I'm not going to vote for the guy and I don't agree with most of what he says but he's challenging the Democratic Party as well.

I wouldn't be opposed to it. The crazy second tier neocons deserve their share of time too, as do the watered down neoliberals.

I'm not as familiar with the democrats running for president, but I've heard a lot about this Gravel guy telling the DNC to dig deep and start seriously fighting. It sounds to me like Gravel is an older version of the democrats. I think he's admirable sheerly for the fact that he's fighting his own party to stick to their original ideals - just as Ron is doing for our camp.

I say we support Gravel. We all say the DNC is ingrown and crooked, just like the current Republican party. Let's rock their boat too. We can help each other out - and it is advantageous. If they've been helping us out, it's only kind and fair that we repay the favor. We want a Republican party that goes back to its founding ideals. Why not want a Democratic party that goes back to its founding ideals too?

I think it may be advantageous of us to try to convince our pro-Gravel friends to register as republicans during primary season because, in all honesty, Ron Paul has a better chance of breaking through the party favorites of Thompson, McCain, and Giuliani than does Gravel at winning against Clinton and Obama.

NEW Member; 1st Post!!!! Great Forum!!!!

Even if I do not agree with this guys views, I still like him because he actually thinks about ideas, not proliferation of special interests, etc.

But he is not a socialist. He actually supports the fairtax (which while though is not RP's position, it infinitely better than the present). I also think he is right about wanting to bring the gov. closer to the people, yet I do not necessarily agree with how he wants to do such (but am still open to consideration)
