View Full Version : Ron Paul addresses recent rumors of 2012 campaign
He's talking with Alex Jones...
"I haven't decided to run or not to run"..
"I have given no inside information in Orlando"...
"Matt Collins just kinda makes things up. Everyone knows that."
(alright, RP didn't say the last one)

Won't decide 'til 2011
He's gonna assess the amount interest in January.
I'm guessing he forms an exploratory committee in January, and if the support is big enough, he will announce soon thereafter (perhaps at CPAC?)

As i told before...he wont run...there is a plan and deals made behind the scenes...and his son and a "stupid low-iq" woman from Alaska are part of that plan ;)
You heard it here first :)
Having said that, get ready for the possibility something goes wrong, "we" are not counting that "they" will be stupid enough to do "something big"...but it is possible "they" might be stupid enough..."we" would make "them" fell the Wrath of God but it would still be a mess...
...and im not making this up.

I can dig it.
Go to CPAC with the C4L numbers to take the straw poll. Make an amazing speech, talk about his conservative credentials then say, "Oh, by the way, I'm running for President."

many of us arrived here because of ron paul's 2007 announcement, some of us arrived here
slightly before or after SUPER~TUESDAY in 2008, we were clearly drawn to here because of
the primaries and ron paul's stances on the issues. kent snyder was one of the people who
urged ron paul to run when he was hesitant. rumors are rumors once again. many of us are
hoping ron paul runs again, however most of us know that any formal announcement right
now is WAY too early. things have not changed over the past few weeks and months, given
that its a binary decision & the odds are perhaps 50/50 that ron paul will indeed run in 2012!

I think this would be the ideal way to go about doing it. Get C4L and YAL to be official sponsors of the event, buy up as many tickets as possible, bus in as many Liberty-loving people as possible, and take the CPAC straw poll by storm. Then, the ultimate climax would be Ron announcing his official candidacy directly after the Straw poll results come out.
At CPAC 2010, the total number of voters was 2,395. Ron Paul garnered 31% of the vote, which means approx. 742 people voted for him.
If we want Ron to win CPAC 2011, I think we would need to DOUBLE that number. All the other mainstream candidates are going to campaign hard to ship their supporters in as well. Romney is already known to do this.
Bottom line: we NEED 1,500 supporters to REGISTER FOR CPAC AND VOTE IN THE STRAW POLL next February 12 -- 15. Buy your tickets through C4L or YAL, if possible, when they come out. We cannot afford another blunder like what happened at SRLC this year.

He also said, "I personally know of a billionaire will is a big fan of mine and will be helping to fund my campaign if I do happen to run in 2012."
(yeah I just made that up)
the funniest part was when alex jones tried to trick ron paul into running by saying
"since you are a man of honor, I assume you are going to run in 2012..." @ 3:35 in video

If there was any better time for him to run it would be now. He's a little bit older so he'd need to pick a good VP but people want real change and they're tired of the same old (D) and (R).
I will definitely be contributing as much as I can if he run for president.

Ron basically said the following at 3:05 into the above video:
"[an announcement] will not be this year.....[whether or not I'll do it] will depend on what I perceive as [the level] of support.... I need to know if the support is really out there"
AJ (or DP) was incorrect however that anyone specified January would be the announcement time. Also there is no "inside official" as AJ/DP claims either.
Get ready because once we get Rand into the Senate by a large margin, 2012 will be just around the corner!
Matt Collins
08-18-2010, 03:14 PM
Oh and what Ron just essentially said in case anyone didn't catch it is that the grassroots needs to get their act in gear before he'll announce. That means it's in our hands so get to work doing this (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=257354)!

Those who absolutely need the words to come out of Ron Paul's mouth of "Yes I am running" obviously do not understand election law.
Ron Paul CANNOT indicate that he will run for president. Our election laws are stupid that way.
And during the campaign they can't say things that WE can.
Look at Gary Johnson...you know he's running for president. He travels to Iowa and New Hampshire like he's got summer homes there...but every single interview he is asked if he's going to run and he repeatedly over and over and over says "I can't say anything about a presidential run...yada yada yada".
I don't know Ron Paul's case but I would imagine that CFL would have to dissolve the first time he says anything about running.

I don't think Ron has to worry about the level of support :D
If that's all he's basing his decision on, then he's running. It's obvious he has tons of support. Not just casual support, rabid insane support.

All I'll say to this is that there is absolutely no way I vote for Palin, even if the son of Ron Paul is picked to be her Vice-Presidential running mate. I think I'm going to make a poll on this.

Kenny says Ron Paul is running in 2012, that should be good enough for every rpf member and msm;) RON PAUL 2012 end of discussion;) now go to gop meetings get the lp/cp/tp to join the gop and show up to meetings and reclaim the gop period. If the members of the gop/tp/cp/lp and indys would show up to meetings! Then we would be the gop!
something in the future will have to give! hold the gop accountable is the best thing you can do to reform the gop, so everyone needs to drop the obama act and focus on the real problem ,gop leadership;)

If he does run, you can chalk up two more votes here. My daughter turns 18 in 2 weeks and got her voter registration card in the mail today. My cousin turns 18 early next year and is a huge RP fan.
I believe I have 4 or 5 others in my family leaning towards RP.
In all I've got 6 guaranteed votes in my family and the possibility of 4 or 5 more.
Working on a few friends and co-workers as well so the number may rise between now and the primaries. The "wars" and the economy are starting make some of them question their neocon views. I can tell a huge difference now when the topic of politics comes in my discussions with friends and family. I guess they didn't care until they were directly affected (I have several friends and family members who have been unemployed for over a year).
I wasn't in a position to donate a lot to RP last time, but if he runs in 2012 I will be maxing out.

FUNDRAISING IS KEY
Ron Paul's fundraising growth was exponential in 2007-2008. Lets start the exponential growth 10 months earlier for 2011-2012.
One of the reasons Paul got as much media attention that he got in 2007-2008 (especially later in 2007) was his ability to harness our grassroots financial support - support that is reported and is one of few things the media covering the election has to cover. Lets make Ron the frontrunner financially EARLY and he WILL NOT be ignored.
Timeline of events:
January 2011 Ron Paul forms exploratory committee
Q1 2011 starts Jan 1 - March 31 2011, and is reported on April 15.
This is analgous to Q1 2007 (http://projects.washingtonpost.com/2008-presidential-candidates/finance/2007/q1/) where Ron raised $639k:
Republicans $53,204,874
Mitt Romney $20,737,149
Rudy Giuliani $14,731,897
John McCain $12,992,655
Tom Tancredo $1,311,533
Ron Paul $639,889
Mike Huckabee $544,880
Duncan Hunter $499,874
Tommy Thompson $315,036
OUR Goal starting THE DAY HE ANNOUNCES FORMING AN EXPLORATORY COMMITTEE should be to raise at least $10 million dollars by March 2011. (Q1)
Q2 2011 - Our goal should be $20 million to keep him in frontrunner status:
Results from Q2 2007 (http://projects.washingtonpost.com/2008-presidential-candidates/finance/2007/q2/)
Republicans $49,673,752
Rudy Giuliani $17,267,287
Mitt Romney $13,793,151
John McCain $11,187,821
Ron Paul $2,357,423
Tom Tancredo $1,465,776
Duncan Hunter $803,383
Mike Huckabee $763,618
Tommy Thompson $458,967
Q3 2011 - The ball shall continue to roll, and the freedom movement shall envelope this country.
Here's Q3 2007: (http://projects.washingtonpost.com/2008-presidential-candidates/finance/2007/q3/)
Republicans $47,464,436
Fred Thompso$12,717,993
Rudy Giuliani $11,253,552
Mitt Romney $9,533,269
John McCain $5,466,904
Ron Paul $5,204,218
Mike Huckabee $1,031,679
Tom Tancredo $747,539
Duncan Hunter $486,337
Tommy Thompson $195,725
Alan Keyes $21,218
Ron Paul got most of his fundraising in Q4 2007 - when it mattered the least fundraising-wise - the numbers aren't published until mid-January, when the early primaries are already over and the game is up and he's been called a "long-shot" too many times to remember. Lets change the MSM's adjective of choice from "long-shot" to "moneybags" and "wildly popular."
Most of Ron Paul's $34 million came at the end, in November and December of 2007, when it was too late to do as much good as EARLIER.
Imagine if Ron, instead of raising $25 million in November and December and January had gotten it 8-10 months earlier! We'd have at least double the support we have now, Paul would be even more of a household name - the freedom movement would have been in a stronger position - who knows what would have happened!?
The government (Federal Election Commission) dictates individuals can give a maximum of $2400 per person ($4800 per married couple). (http://www.fec.gov/pages/brochures/citizens.shtml#fn2)
A few suggestions:
START SAVING NOW.
1. I'm maxing out and encouraging my friends to do the same. In a fight there are times to save onto your ammo and times to fire with all you've got - Jan 2011 lets fire the shot heard around the world (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concord_Hymn).
2. Join your local tea party and tell them Ron Paul started the modern tea party movement. Lets earn their hearts and minds.
3. I posit that a money bomb should be planned for some time in Jan, Feb., or March 2011 to put our campaign in a competitive position and gain financial-frontrunner status.
4. Meetup groups
http://ronpaulgraphs.com/ (http://ronpaulgraphs.com/) - note all the major money bombs occurred 10 months before they MUST this time around. This is necessary, but not sufficient, to win.
