The tinfoil guy was wearing a Rand Paul sign on his back and a Dora the Explorer piņata lashed to his chest. "I'm completely against Mexicans," he explained. This confrontation, which was never resolved, took place two days before GQ magazine reported that an unnamed woman said that in college, "Randy" Paul and a friend had (playfully, it seems) tied her up, abducted her and forced her to take bong hits and worship the Aqua Buddha, a rather delightful but hitherto unknown deity. (Paul belatedly denied the allegation.)

There you go, Time's Joe Klein saying that Tyler Collins, the imposter, was actually a Rand fan even though he's already been exposed - and then Klein says that Rand "abducted" the female in college, even though those anonymous allegations have already been withdrawn by the accuser.

Both of these "scandals" have been completely debunked, but Klein doesn't want to admit it because it doesn't fit the liberal media narrative.

So he abducted and tied up a girl and all did was make her take bong hits?

Yuck. You mean I'm going to have to register with Time to comment? Maybe I'll send a letter snail mail.

Talk about lack of journalism, they COULDN'T have missed the internet chatter on that.

Joe Klein is some of the worst of the "Journolist" scum. Here is what he and his media allies coordinated and propagandized when Palin won the nomination:

Time’s Joe Klein then linked to his own piece (http://swampland.blogs.time.com/2008/08/29/palindrone/), parts of which he acknowledged came from strategy sessions on Journolist. “Here’s my attempt to incorporate the accumulated wisdom of this august list-serve community,” he wrote. And indeed Klein’s article contained arguments developed by his fellow Journolisters. Klein praised Palin personally, calling her “fresh” and “delightful,” but questioned her “militant” ideology. He noted Palin had endorsed parts of Obama’s energy proposal.

That was all on the day of the announcement. "When McCain picked Palin, liberal journalists coordinated the best line of attack" (http://dailycaller.com/2010/07/22/when-mccain-picked-palin-liberal-journalists-coordinated-the-best-line-of-attack)

Can you imagine the things they were coordinating about Rand Paul?

The Palin Journolist scheme worked and actually got on the NBC Nightly news. That is the most watched news program in America. Here is the "news" report following from Joe Klein's "article" in Time.

This is how the media works for its liberal agenda and against those who oppose it. The same thing is going on in the newspapers.

Wow! If I were Times' legal department I'd be really worried about putting that together with his ignoring multiple media accounts of Tyler's true identity and printing this. Even the NY Times standard for libel does INCLUDE a standard.

Any time you see Joe Klein involved that is a guarantee that a JournOlist smear campaign is afoot.

Here is a link with a current list of JournOlisters: http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/08/journolist_update.html

Notice how many of them are not just writing stories about Paul (which is to be expected) but are amplifying and driving all kinds of spin almost every day.

When I see an anti Paul story check to see if the author is on Journolist. Notice supposed "straight news" reporters in places like Politico, NYT, and TIME are part of the coordination to smear conservatives.

Anyone who isn't familar with Journolist really should get familiar with it. Start here: http://dailycaller.com/journolist/

I think this is an attempt to provoke Rand to sue the NY Times. They just want mud all over the place to see whether something good for Conway comes out of it. Nobody in KY reads the Times. It's best just to ignore this.

It's just full on 24/7 media smear now. Yesterday's May*sville Led*ger Indep*endent ran an AP article about the new campaign spokesman. They used the entire article as a chance to recount each of the allegations against Rand. One of the owners of this paper was an unabashed supporter of Trey Grayson, so it was a smear fest in the primary too. Rand will win in the county where the newspaper is published, but whew, this crap is over the top.

Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul has again tapped into a group connected to his father, this time to find a press secretary for a campaign that's often been hounded by unwanted publicity.

After the biased intro, the article goes on with a litany of unsubstantiated claims/accusations/distortions

I think Conway and the media is overplaying this line of attack. It is their only chance though, so I can't blame them for trying. They are scared of Rand because of the potential harm he could do not only short term in Washington but to the progressive movement as a whole. They were also terrified of Palin because of this. He shakes them to their core because she is a conservative feminist. Before I get flamed, let me be clear that they are only similar in this respect.

Let's also take comfort in the fact that Palin could most likely win the state of Kentucky if she were the Republican nominee in 2012 and McCain won this state by quite a bit in 2010 after the beating the media gave him. After 2008 the people in Kentucky are wise to this line of attack. They will not fall for it.

Guys, I seriously don't see how these publications are allowed to get away with this kind of bullshit when clearly both instances have been majorly debunked. On one hand they're running a story about an "anonymus source," and the other they're acting as if that guy was a legit Rand supportered even though the guy clearly works for Conway. From what I know of personal slander it's this:

A) the person knew what he/she was saying was false B) the person said it with malicious intent C) the slander had an economic or social impact on you

Seems somewhat to be the case here imo.

Also I'm not sure about the publications themselves, but there asses need hit up to. I'm not in no way against free speech, but when the freedom thereof slanders someone else that has an economic ipact with untruthful accusations that's not allowed from my understanding of the constitution, but then we don't follow that much any more so...

Meh. There went any modicum of respect I held for Crit Luallen and Greg Stumbo.
They're towing the party line for Conway, just like Conway will for Obama.
Good video BTW. They are scared, but I'm not! :)
