Must-Read of the Day: Bill Kristol on the Left’s Collapse and Impending Electoral Doom (http://bigjournalism.com/fross/2010/08/14/must-read-of-the-day-bill-kristol-on-the-lefts-collapse-and-impending-electoral-doom/)

Sure the news stinks: Obama (of course) has come out foursquare for the Ground Zero mosque, the economy is in the dumps and Dustin Pedroia is still on the DL. But look on the bright side: the snarling, vicious, fascist Left is starting to crack up!

Don ‘t take it from us — take it from Bill Kristol (http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/collapse):

The left has collapsed.

Its political support has collapsed. Public opinion polls point to a historic repudiation of the president and the Democratic party this fall—something on the order of a 60-seat Republican gain in the House. The GOP has an outside shot at taking the Senate as well.

Its claim to intellectual integrity has collapsed. Paul Krugman—Ivy League professor, New York Times columnist, and Nobel laureate (the holy trinity of the liberal establishment)—has humiliated himself with a startlingly dishonest attack on Paul Ryan’s budget proposal. Krugman, called out by Ryan, rebuked by honest analysts, and unwilling to concede his errors, has retreated into uncharacteristic abashed silence.

Lenin and Stalin, Democrat role models

Its Leninist discipline has collapsed. Last week, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs complained about the craziness of the “professional left” in the punditocracy. “Those people ought to be drug tested,” Gibbs explained. “They will be satisfied when we have Canadian health care and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality. .  .  . They wouldn’t be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president.” Members of the professional left hit back at Gibbs, dubbing the Obama White House the “amateur left.”

Naturally, it’s a complete coincidence that no less than seventy members of the current Congress — all “Democrats,” naturally — are members of the Socialist Party of America (http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2010/08/american-socialists-release-names-of-70-congressional-democrats-in-their-caucus/) (and we bet you can name half of them without even peeking). Not that there’s anything wrong with that — after all, they have the best interests of the country at heart. It’s just that their notion of America bears absolutely no resemblance to that of the Founders. Or yours, for that matter.

More Bill:

Its democratic credibility has collapsed. In recent weeks, the left has the arbitrary rulings and sophistic arguments of federal judges who have overturned an immigration statute that mirrors federal law passed by the state legislature in Arizona, and a constitutional amendment, defining marriage as it has been defined for all of American history, enacted by the citizens of California. The left has also heaped praise on New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, as he, having bought his way to a narrow reelection, showered disdain and contempt on the majority of his fellow New Yorkers who object to a mosque next to Ground Zero.

And what, you might ask, is the snarling, vicious, fascist Left’s response to this drastic change in their fortunes. About what you’d expect:

http://bigjournalism.com/files/2010/08/fucktea.jpg

This is how intellectually bankrupt the Left has become.

The “f*ck tea” movement—that’s what the left has come to. They can’t defend the results of Obama’s policies or the validity of Krugman’s arguments. They know it’s hard to sustain an antidemocratic ethos in a democracy. They realize they’ve degenerated into pro-am levels of whining and squabbling. So they curse their opponents.

Be sure to read the whole thing, especially for the kicker (http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/collapse). And have a nice day.

As if neoconservatism is any better or less intellectually and ethically bankrupt than socialism.

Neoconservatives support (New Deal-like) socialism and internationalism (anti-Non-interventionism).

Defining Terms: What is a Neoconservative (Neocon)?
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=257106

Kristol spelled out neocon belief in his 1995 opus Neoconservatism: The Autobiography of an Idea (http://www.amazon.com/Neo-conservatism-Autobiography-Idea-Irving-Kristol/dp/1566632285). He said that it squared with Franklin Roosevelt’s “New Deal,” and wanted nothing to do with “the kind of isolationism that then permeated American conservatism.” There you have the definition of neoconservatism: socialism and internationalism. Kristol went so far as to candidly admit, “I regard myself as lucky to have been a young Trotskyite and I have not a single bitter memory.” The partner of Lenin in communizing Russia, Trotsky later fell into disfavor for backing the slower route to deadly totalitarianism. If one accepts Kristol’s definition, and there is no reason not to do so, Trotsky was the first neoconservative.

Ann Coulter Calls Bill Kristol Out? - Bill Kristol must resign! (http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=36812)

Campaign For Liberty
July 08, 2010

Say what you want about Ann Coulter but she's on the money with her latest column, "Bill Kristol must resign (http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=176033)."

In the column she says:

Bill Kristol and Liz Cheney have demanded that Steele resign as head of the RNC for saying Afghanistan is now Obama's war - and a badly thought-out one at that. (Didn't liberals warn us that neoconservatives want permanent war?)

I thought the irreducible requirements of Republicanism were being for life, small government and a strong national defense, but I guess permanent war is on the platter now, too.

Of course, if Kristol is writing the rules for being a Republican, we're all going to have to get on board for amnesty and a "National Greatness Project," too - other Kristol ideas for the Republican Party. Also, John McCain. Kristol was an early backer of McCain for president - and look how great that turned out!

Inasmuch as demanding resignations is another new Republican position, here's mine: Bill Kristol and Liz Cheney must resign immediately.

Ann Coulter has said more than once she supports all of Ron Paul's positions (by default C4L as well) except for his position on the war(s). Could that sentiment be changing now?

What he says about the left is still true, even if he is a neocon.

I myself was quite surprised at Coulter's hostility towards Kristol when I first heard about it a while back. It's unfortunate that the rest of the so-called "right wing" media doesn't listen to her on this. :(

Wow. I'm shocked at this very moment, because I had never heard of it. I still can't stand her virulent and hateful brand of cultural conservatism, but if she's calling out the neocons for supporting perpetual war, maybe I misjudged her a bit when I considered her one of them.

I agree. This whole thing is nothing more than a game to him. He wants to see the Democrats and liberals lose because they're his [friendly?] rivals and he's playing them in a competitive sport, not because he gives a damn about America's future.

So what?

A socialist can just as easily spout off legitimate criticism of the right wing--it barely matters what they think unless they're in a position to criticize.

Kristol is irrelevant, and the only good thing is that he might provide some decent information to attack the left when they're wrong. But we're (mostly) opposed to both sides--it's a lot to take on.

I won't give him credit where it isn't due. (Yeah, I know you weren't asking me to.)

All we can do, is communicate to everyone we have discussions with, that William Kristol, et al, discredit ANYTHING they print or say.

Use every relation and tie these globalist tyrant warmongers are connected to, in revealing their true motives. Also never stop exposing these dividers who pull the left-right paradigm.
