CONCORD, N.H. (AP) -- Colorado Republican Congressman Tom Tancredo plans to add his name Tuesday to the list of candidates in New Hampshire's yet-to-be-scheduled presidential primary.
Monday, two ex-convicts signed up, one an American fugitive from Rome, became the first to sign up on the opening day of the three-week filing period.
Jack Shepard, a Republican who has run for Senate and Congress in Minnesota, listed Saint Paul as his permanent address, with a temporary home in Rome. Authorities have said he was convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in 1979 and became a fugitive after failing to comply with the terms of his parole.
Robert Haines, a long-shot Republican candidate, served time in the New Hampshire state prison for pulling a gun on a man while campaigning in the 1996 primary.
