My walk in closet is twice the size of those rental cubicals. I wonder how much I could rent it for?

This film tries to explain why Japan is suffering from deflation but the US will suffer from hyper-inflation. I'm trying to follow the reasoning but I'm not getting it. One of the points made is that the Japanese debt was largely domestic whereas US debt is heavily weighted on the international side. So? This topic is starting to bug me a bit because I'm hearing from friends who lived in Japan that Japanese are savers and don't print money, therefor they are suffering from deflation.

Does anyone have a quick breakdown why Japan is seeing deflation and the US might see from hyper-inflation? I'm happy to read up on this if you guys can recommend any good articles.

EDIT: This should probably be in the economics forum but I'm just responding to the original thread rather than start a new one.
