US Senate candidate and expert economist Peter Schiff has defeated Connecticut Republican rivals Linda McMahon and Rob Simmons in an internal poll conducted by the Schiff campaign.

Out of 100 Connecticut voters randomly polled, Schiff holds a 4% edge over McMahon, a former WWE wrestling promoter, and an 8% lead over former Rep. Simmons. Here are the numbers:
Schiff 26%
McMahon 22%
Simmons 18%
Undecided 34%

68% of those who support McMahon are likely to change their mind, while only 32% of those who support Schiff are likely to change their mind. In total, 44% of those polled are likely to change their mind before the primary.

This poll followed a Quinnipiac poll released on Tuesday showing McMahon as the front runner. However, multiple voters have contacted the Schiff campaign claiming that Quinnipiac pollsters tried to steer them towards McMahon.

McMahon has already spent $22 million on the race and has been previously accused of paying off delegates at the Republican convention. In addition, she has repeatedly refused to debate Schiff on issues that matter to Connecticut voters, potentially to conceal her strong liberal ties to the Democratic party.

The primary will be held on Tuesday, August 10.

Don't we here tend to mock those that tout internal polls that fly in the face of professionally gathered polls?
