Smell tests on dozens of specimens from the area revealed barely detectable traces of toxic substances, the Food and Drug Administration said.

(What's their annual budget again?)

In Mississippi on Monday, FDA Commissioner Dr. Margaret Hamburg said the government is "confident (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38529484/ns/health-food_safety/#) all appropriate steps have been taken to ensure that seafood harvested from the waters being opened today is safe and that Gulf seafood lovers everywhere can be confident eating and enjoying the fish and shrimp that will be coming out of this area."

Who's having oysters tonight?

Can probably grill them on the BBQ without even using charcoal. Sort of like Match Light without the charcoal.

I was listening to the White House press conference today, and watching them downplay this was jaw dropping. Shades of Baghdad Bob. I guess now we know what the payment from BP was for.

Everything is all so screwy. Obama's administration saying that Rush was right about the oil spill not being a big deal? This has to be messing with his sycophants somethin' terrible.

I'll give them a try (Taste Test) If some one wants to send some this way.
I will give an honest opinion as to flavor,(former Keys resident) and I have ingested enough petroleum products over the years that I am not concerned.

doing my part for quality control :)

The amount of oil spilled was grossly exaggerated almost from day one.

Government is backpedaling because that fact is becoming painfully obvious.

I've been trying to tell everybody all along that the situation was never as dire as it was being made out to be.

I ate some local seafood (A shrimp po'boy, made with local shrimp, in Galliano.) just yesterday, nothing wrong with it at all.

Awesome.

If there is any oil left, sell it to homeopaths as medicine. :D

I made a po' boy with Gulf shrimp last week, and I'm still alive too.

The corexit would make me think twice this early on more so than the oil.

That and the whole EPA/White House/911 Air Safety thing.
