War Warning from Madison, 4th US President

"Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied; and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of manners and of morals engendered by both. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare."

James Madison followed the Constitution during the War of 1812. Why can't Obama follow it now?

That's a profound quote - one that I need some neo-con family members to read.

James Madison also conducted the War of 1812 with no central bank, no income tax, and no draft. The congress declared the war after a very long period of fruitless negotiation. The federal budget during the peak of the war was less than 4% of the GNP! This despite an actual invasion by the world's strongest military empire.

There were no trials for treason or sedition and no Patriot Act or Alien & Sedition Acts, or Espionage Acts. No "internment camps", no false-flag operations, and no orchestrated events. Can you imagine what would happen to the Hartford convention today? They would be rounded up in no time. James Madison merely sent messengers there and told them it was a bad idea.

Amazing!

Now is a good time to remind everyone how it is supposed to be done. the 200th anniversary is comin' up.

More from Madison:

“War is in fact the true nurse of executive aggrandizement.”

“It is a universal truth that the loss of liberty at home is to be charged to the provisions against danger, real or pretended, from abroad.”

Follow the power grab. Money is just one of the more effective means of achieving the true goal of control.
