View Full Version : Schiff still in the hunt

Don't be discouraged by this poll. Schiff is still in the hunt if we continue to pound the phone lines.

The poll has:

McMahon 47%
Simmons 30%
Schiff 14%

Schiff's supporters will overperform at the polls. Simmons and McMahon might underperform. And remember, Schiff just has to climb up another 17% to be in the lead if he takes that support from McMahon. When it's all said and done, a candidate can only need 34% of the entire vote to win and this race is going to be very close. Schiff's already got 14% locked up. He is within striking distance. And his ad is coming out at the perfect time when Republicans are actually starting to pay attention to the race.

the writing is on the wall, as much as that writing sucks.

Even if you think so, and I completely recognize it would take a monumental effort from the grassroots for Schiff to win, still make calls for Peter. I was convinced early on that Ron Paul would not be president, yet I campaigned for him and spread the word for many months after I already knew the "writing was on the wall." Let's do the same for Pete. He's the most articulate spokesman for liberty there is, and even if his odds are 10:1 or 20:1 just the smallest chance that it could actually happen will make me fight to the end for him.

I like to think of this as pushing a boulder up a hill. Everything we are doing, whether Peter wins or not, pushes that boulder further up the hill, the boulder being small limited government. As long as what we are doing pushes that boulder further up the hill, nothing we do is wasted. When the final collapse happens people will remember all those calls and mailers and commercials and videos and hopefully they will say, hey, maybe small government IS the answer, like those Peter Schiff guys were saying.

I apologize for the pessimism. I'm having one of those days.

Why should we be pessimictic ?

At this point we have only things to WIN not lose.

there have been many political upsets over the years. Mike Huckabee proved that in Iowa2008. he polled for many months in single digits and mitt romney was the projected winner with close to 33 % then Huckabee along with his christian grassroots supporters surged him within striking distance. the final day of polling showed Mitt would win by 2-3 points..... guess wat happened? Huckabee won because his grassroots showed up! heck most of the people who said they would vote for romney only said they would just to get a free ride from the romney campaign who rented out luxury busses to.drive the so called romney supporters to the polls.Romney and Linda Mcmahon are one in the same. dont be surprised if many of the voters lied to the pollsters. Internal polling will show Schiff at about 20%

I hate to break it, but Peter does not have the social conservative crowd in his corner as did Huckabee. I admire your perseverance, but I believe your comparison is way off here. The social conservatives have a much larger base than we liberty minded people do. I do believe we're a much more motivated group, but it's just bad we don't have more at the moment.

Remember guys, it's the message that's important.

Think of what RP's 2008 candidacy sparked.

I wish the "liberty" people should try and reach out to those christian conservatives. The liberty movement is bigger than you think. Many people dont openly admit to it for fear of being laabeled a nut job or racist but it is bigger than you think. This is why the phone banks are so important. I think a few of the Mcmahon "supporters" will end up pulling the lever for Schiff or Simmons.

Good points. Now is the worst time to give up. we only need another 17 points since this is a three way race, not the typical 36%+.

Unfortunately many social conservatives will not worry to much about freedom until what they believe in is encroached.

And many more "Modal Libertarians" think the World rolls around them and think libertarianism is all about drugs and porn and sex and all that...
