Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad survives 'assassination attempt'
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, has survived a bomb attack on his convoy, according to reports.

The website khabaronline.ir reported that the president's car was about 100 yards away from the site of the blast Photo: EPA
Al Arabiya television said an attacker threw a bomb at Mr Ahmadinejad's convoy before being detained.

A home-made bomb exploded near the convoy, a source from the president's office told Reuters, but Mr Ahmadinejad, who was travelling from an airport in the western city of Hamadan to give a speech in a sports arena, was unharmed.

One person had been arrested, the Iranian source said.
The website khabaronline.ir reported that the hardline president's car was about 100 yards away from the site of the blast.
The website said it had no information about whether other people were injured.
"The explosion caused a lot of smoke," it said.
However, an official from Mr Ahmadinejad's media office told AFP that the president's motorcade had not been attacked by a grenade. The explosion was from a firecracker, he said.

This title is pretty misleading..have any facts to back up your claim? You really thing some CIA agent is going to run down an Iranian street and throw some shitty home made firecracker at the wrong car and get arrested?

Iran rejects reports of grenade attack on Ahmadinejad

Iran has rejected the reports of grenade attack on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Iranian news agency IRNA quoting Iran's presidential office has rejected as false the reports of some foreign news sources that a grenade exploded near the motorcade of President Ahmadinejad during his visit to the western city of Hamedan today.

Earlier news agencies report said that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad survived an attack with a homemade explosive device on his motorcade during a visit to the western city of Hamadan.

The report said that Ahmadinejad's convoy was targeted as he was travelling from Hamadan's airport to give a speech in a local sports arena and the president was unhurt but others had been injured in the blast.

Anybody can be a "CIA agent"

Anybody.

A homeless person could be a CIA agent.

The CIA could come to you tomorrow and ask you to do something, they can offer you money, and you can either accept or refuse. If you accept, you are an agent for the CIA.

So yes, I think a CIA agent COULD have run down an Iranian street and thrown a shitty home made fire cracker at the wrong car. Maybe that's what they wanted, who knows. Or maybe it was something else entirely... but just because somebody does something stupid doesn't mean the CIA wasn't behind it.

Because if so, yes. I do think it's feasible.

The CIA is a set of people, and like any set of people they are capable of great ingenuity in their plans as well as great stupidity. Both are to the US' detriment.

Franz Ferdinand Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (18 December 1863 28 October 1956 – ???) was an Archduke president of Austria-Este, Austro-Hungarian and Royal Prince of Hungary and of Bohemia, and from 1889 until his death, heir presumptive to the Austro-Hungarian throne the Islamic Republic of Iran.[1] His assassination (attempt) in Sarajevo Hamadan precipitated Austria-Hungary's Iran's declaration of war against Serbia Israel. This caused Germany Syria and Austria-Hungary Iran, and countries allied with Serbia Israel (the Triple Entente Powers United States and its Allies) to declare war on each other, starting World War I(II).

The Bay of Pigs is a subject that many people may not be aware of.
