Pre-picnic Political Breakfasts Set for Saturday

Both political parties in Graves County are hosting breakfasts Saturday as a prelude to the Fancy Farm Picnic.

The annual Graves County Democratic Executive Committee Breakfast will be held at Mayfield High School. The country style breakfast will begin at 8 am.

Speakers include Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, Lt. Governor Daniel Mongiardo, State Treasurer Todd Hollenbach, Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway, who is also a candidate for the Kentucky U.S. Senate seat, State Representatives Fred Nesler, and Rex Smith, McCracken County candidate for State Senate. Former U.S. Representative Carroll Hubbard will emcee the event.

For reserved tickets call Romey Holmes at 270-673-8078, or contact County Judge Executive Tony Smith, County Clerk Barry Kennemore or Property Valuation Administrator Howel Carr. Tickets are $15 and will also be available at the door.

The annual Graves County Republican Breakfast will be held at Graves County High School. Food service begins at 8 am.

Speakers include Congressman Eric Cantor, (VA) Minority Whip of the U.S. House of Representatives, Senator Mitch McConnell, Senatorial Candidate Dr. Rand Paul, Congressman Ed Whitfield, Congressman Brett Guthrie, Secretary of State Trey Grayson, State Senator Ken Winters and State Representatives Steven Rudy and Jeff Hoover. Master of Ceremonies will be Senator David Williams, President of the Kentucky Senate.
