BOWLING GREEN, Ky, Aug 3 (Reuters) - Kentucky Republican Rand Paul has one thing in mind if he is elected to the U.S. Senate in November: balance the deficit-ridden federal budget even if it means bucking colleagues in his own party.
'If I am elected I will propose a balanced budget and I will make them vote on it,' Paul, a practicing ophthalmologist, said in an interview on Tuesday.
Outfitted in blue scrubs at his practice, Paul said his campaign trips around the state have taught him that Americans are worried about the economy and disdainful of a Congress that they feel is not doing its job. ..."
