Unfortunately, I am not easy to sell on grand schemes because I myself am of a rather humble standing. I tend to apply Occam's razor in most scenarios. So it's ok if you too aren't sold on the idea that there is more than meets the eye, cuz really it doesn't have to. Empires tend to act arrogantly, idiotically and barbarically, and there needn't be any more explanation. But for what it's worth the following is the main course for this thread, fresh from REAL NEWS NETWORK (Aug, 1st 2010, sometimes I feel that we at RPF are being watch LOL... cuz that was going to be my next set of dose in the foreign affairs thread.

I was going to post something about ISI in this thread

I wish for sort of a compendium regarding current wars here at RPF, because seriously guys its been almost a decade since the war started; even the most bloody war in history WWII was over in 6 years. And here we have a situation where we don't even know the ABCs.
BTW, when Fitzgerald suggests that we need to intervene in Kashmir for the sake of peace in the region, I expect everyone at RPF to shout a RESOUNDING NO to government intervention in foreign afairs (and I say this as someone who sympathizes with the Kashmiris). Pakistan sponsors terror in India. And India is accused by everyone of its neighbors for sponsoring terror for regional hegemony, we all know what the founding fathers said as honorable Dr. RP has often reminded us. However, feel free to advocate freedom as individuals for the oppressed if you really feel so :D
