Romney's Cash-Debt should actually be 17.4 million higher, since those loans were made to himself, hence he doesn't really need to pay them back. They are essentially personal contributions.

You need to remove General election contributions for Rudy in addition to the debt. Also you should throw Romney in 2nd place there.

We're basically in fourth place in cash on hand and hot on the heels of Fred Thompson.

They won't report him as top-tier until he polls higher. He won't poll higher until they report him as top-tier....the circle continues...:(

We've got to stop pretending we can subtract Romney's debt. You know that sideways 8 that symbolizes infinity? That's what Romney has to spend. He's never going to run out of cash.

The cash-on-hand stat is used to measure (duh) how much cash a candidate has to spend, but it also implies the level of interest in a candidate, i.e. a candidate able to raise an impressive $x-million must be attracting interest from voters.

So in one sense it doesn't matter where Romney got the money from, only that he has it, and in another sense it's important to point out that if a lot of that cash is from he himself, then it implies he needs to self-fund his campaign because supporters aren't willing to donate.

yep and if they donate they are pretty much a sure voter(maybe not for you some do shotgun donations). If they don't donate they may not vote at all. apathy is good for us as a grassroots since we have already shown we CAN turn out the vote, just need to be sure we do it.
