With Kucinich voting against the Iraq/Yugoslovian War and proposing impeachment for Bush, why doesn't he have more support within the Democratic Party?

Shouldn't Kucinich also be winning online debate polls like Ron Paul?

Kucinich is a straight up socialist -

I think the 1% he has fell in love with the story of him and his wife.

That's a problem for Kucinich'es people. He appears to be a one-issue candidate, while the other Democrats are trying to promote several platforms like Universal Health Care, Foreign policy, etc...

Pushing for impeachment only counts while Bush/Cheney are still in office. In the next term, they won't be eligible for impeachment.

Kucinich unlike RP voted for the Iraq liberation act which in all reality was the green light to invade Iraq. But he was playing party politics and voting with his president.

Even to the point of Democrats looking at him strangely, I do think he is one of the more sane candidates though.

All the Dems say they're for ending the war. Most people don't watch the debates and therefore don't know that the top tier candidates have waffled on leaving until 2013.

Everyone knows Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate on the Republican stage who opposes the war and that gives him more notoriety. Plus, as much as people like Tucker Carlson seem to think otherwise, the people who are excited for Ron Paul's campaign aren't doing so because Ron Paul is a one-trick pony about the war. There are so many other things that Ron Paul speaks about that attract voters. With Kucinich, I get the feeling that he's just more of the same thing that the front runners are already talking about, just to a different degree. It just doesn't seem all that different or exciting, IMO.

If anyone on the Dems' side is similar in strategy and grassroots support, I'd have to say it's Gravel. And oddly enough, that's probably who I'd vote for if I were on that ticket.

I think he suffers from "not-a-serious-candidate" syndrome.

For a socialist, Kucinich is a pretty good guy. Dude carries around a pocket Constitution. He's good people.

Yea, but why is Ron Paul able to push through the Republican ranks but Kucinich can't pull through the Democrat ranks?

Because the money men control both parties, Republican and Democrat. It is in their interest to continue the war financially, geographically, and to attain dwindling oil supply... Each year they fool you into voting for a pre-ordained candidate. You never throw the bastards out, because both parties are interchangeable... Socialist or not, Kucinich is at least honest, and so is Mike Gravel... Ron Paul is the third honest candidate, standing apart ... well you know...

Kind of puts Ron's bad press in perspective.

It's the media... Not only that but there are only "strong" candidates on the Democratic party.

Ron Paul is very unique. He stands out from both parties, yet has qualities both sides can appreciate. But in very progressive circles, Dennis Kucinich is very well known. More than anything though, the Democratic party really wants Al Gore to run from my understanding.
