I came across somebody mentioning that South Korea pays the US for all the costs of deploying troops there.

Then they continue to say we should be protecting them because South Korea is one of the worlds largest economies. "The destruction of this economy (even in a war that south Korea eventually won) would do great damage to the US and the rest of the world."

So I was curious to hear what people would say against this? Repaying the US entirely is news to me... Any real figures out there? I see South Korea spends 24 billion on their military but how much of our 700 billion pie helps them out? Do they actually repay for all of the US protection on top of their 24 billion?

Well I don't see where in the Constitution the government has the authority to create mercenaries for hire for foreign countries.
