Correction, "volunteers."

And the answer is no.

Absolutely not. But they do work harder than us, on average.

I'm talking about as a percentage of their population. Although, labor at gun point and threats of imprisonment do tend to increase efficiency rates dramatically!

you think the success of Shanghai, Beijing, and car companies are from violence? Or just illusionary/superficial?

And the answer is no.

what's your point? They're not really volunteers? Or they're only volunteers as in "unpaid" not "happy to work for free"?

No no not at all, I believe neither of those scenarios...

Like i said, I just think that on average, the chinese work harder than most Americans, again, on average. By how much I have no idea.

There is also a difference between working harder and working smarter. On the latter, I would say that Americans edge out the Chinese overall, again, without knowing exactly by how much.

They also have a much larger population than us, so we sorta lose out on sheer numbers.

I guess what im saying is that overall, the Chinese have their heads screwed on straight more often than the average American. Whatever the cause for that is open to debate.

If you look at sheer results in terms of education and particularly mathmatics, I know that Asian cultures usually stomp is in terms of performance, though i may be racist in thinking that, and if so, my apologies, it is not my intent.

In those cases, an examination of their study habits reveals that they work much harder and longer at their studies than do american students. It was of this that i was thinking when i said that they are not smarter than us but they simply work harder than we do.

Work hard = clean up an oil spill.

Work smart = pay someone to clean up my oil spill.

Work really smart = don't have an oil spill to begin with.

Bacterial bio-remediation has been around in the USA for at least 10 years. Myco remediation is proven to be much better.

Paul Stametts and Fungi Perfecti are in contact with the EPA with a possible solution. http://www.fungi.com/mycotech/petroleum_problem.html

They have a strain of oyster mushroom that can "eat" 95% of the hydrocarbon.... and the mushroom is still edible.

But only temporarily.

Slavery in the long run is cripplingly under-productive and requires too much maintenance. China's prosperity is temporary at best, just like every other iteration of tyranny in their long long history of authoritarianism.

I also wish to add that while many Asian peoples may have high industrial productivity, a cultural thing to be sure based on their history, what of their output of creative productivity? Could it compare to that of the classical liberal West? I do not think I am versed enough to say one way or the other, but I think it is something to think about.

I agree with you, but everything is relative.

Have you been to Wal Mart lately? Have you seen the obese Americans riding around in the motorized wheel chairs, hooked up to oxygen; stuffing shit food into their carts? Now, ain't that America?

North Asian peoples are slightly more intelligent but far more collectivist and conformist (and I would argue less creative as a result) than Europids. Europeans are more individualist (and less racially conscious) than any other race.

+1

My brother lives in Beijing and speaks the language fluently. The 30-minute segments you see on TV, and the few praises by Schiff, Faber and Rogers, do not clue you in into the real China. China is not all it's cracked up to be.

The prosperity of Shanghai,Beijing and GuangDong is at the expenses of inland provinces. Can you imagine there are one hundred million people who are forced to leave their inland homeland to look for jobs in east coastal areas?

if you have a way to get on the news for the other side of the world to see what you're doing, go for it, maybe you don't care, but the outside world sees what's on the news, they don't read your blog to see who "isn't".

do you propose giving them jobs at home? or giving them free money so they don't need to work?

No wonder socialism isn't working out too well for them...
