:o

Oddly enough, he LOVES this phrase.

In 2002, asked for his plan to address a tight state budget after an economic downturn, Huckabee said, “Sitting in a warm tub of water with a lot of razor blades.”

Asked after the 2005 off-year elections whether President Bush’s low approval ratings had hurt Republicans, Huckabee said, “As bad a day as it may have appeared to be, I don’t hear any Republican who’s sitting in a tub of warm water with a handful of razor blades ready to say it’s all over.”

And he says other things too:

When radio personality Don Imus interviewed Huckabee last year about his 110-pound weight loss, the governor joked that he had spent time in a concentration camp. Huckabee dismissed a Jewish group’s criticism, saying he hadn’t made a reference to Jews or the Holocaust.

As long as you know what you are buying it is fine.

It is the people that these con artist take money from that believe that he is something more than a snake oil salesman is what make him rather disgusting in my eyes. If you know you spending money on pop culture psychobabble it is all fine and good. The problem is some people actually believe in what he is selling.

If you spend money on cocaine and know that it is nothing more than a feel good measure, hell no problem. If you think it going to somehow make you a better person then there is a problem.

Spend your money wherever you want. Just be sure you know why you are buying.

I'm sure they are working for the money so 'gave' isn't the right word. Doesn't look like anyone is getting rich.

Olsteen may be more or less a motivational speaker but he brings the super-natural into it which makes him much more like a fortune-teller than a motivational speaker.

Fine for Paul's family to work for free, some people are probably in a better position to do that. I don't see anything wrong with Huck's family getting paid for work. I'm sure they volunteer a lot of time too.

Every time I've seen Olsteen talk he brings in supernatural stuff talking about what God will give you etc... Just because he doesn't do it as much as other's doesn't make it any better. Once again as long as you know what you are buying it is fine. If you want to give a David Koresh your life savings fine with me. As Boortz would say it shouldn't be illegal unless you are taking someone's life liberty or property by force or fraud. I won't call religion fraud because it requires faith but a lot of the people that practice in that business walk a thin line.

I am pretty sure hid did not spend much at all on the Iowa Straw poll. Less than Ron did. He did so well at the Straw poll because there was a bunch of FairTax supporters that FairTax.org bused in to Ames for a giant FairTax Rally. And they of course all vote for Huckabee with their free tickets.

But Huckabee's campaign spent very little on the Ames straw poll and didn't do any busing themselves. Unlike Brownback who spent a small fortune.

And remember, right now Huckabee is polling in double digits in Iowa ahead of Rudy and way ahead of Ron. He may not have any money but I suspect he is going nowhere and we need to take him seriously.

It's better for Paul if he drops out, he seems to be a person who takes a bit of Paul's support, if he dropped out, theres less top tier candidates and Ron would skyrocket.

Huck dropping out would be a great thing for Paul to me at least.

Huck has some of the Christian vote. The top tier exculding Ron, are not attractive candidates towards the Christian vote.

I like the phrase. If Governor Huckabee, a Presidential candidate, can say it about the other Republican candidates, why can't we say it about him? There seems to be a double standard here and you are defending Huckabee over a Paul supporter! That's grounds for treason around here, sir. Huckabee is the one who opened the can of worms by saying not once, but many times! I will continue to use the reference because it's acceptable and funny because Mike Huckabee says it is and he still has his honor either way!
